| I was in the Wigan end and can confirm that noises were made, but Wigan fans were trying to stamp it out. I think the same incident led to a bit of a fight I saw later in the first half, which seemed (weirdly) to involve some Hull KR fans. (NB: I do not know which side caused this fight and am making no accusations)

| The Saints end of the stadium was completely silent and they deserve credit for that. Whoever it was in the Wigan end needs to have a word with themselves, both whoever started it and also those screaming, "Will you just STF up?". That IMO is more disrespectful than one or two idiots being idiots. Had they left them to it, the stewards could then deal with the situation etc, but once everyone starts screaming at them it gets a bit noisy.
The only time the Wigan end was noisier was when Farrell scored the no try.

| I can tell you for definite it was a gang of KR fans in army fancy dress who caused the disturbance during the silence. One lad in particular who was being a proper tit and kicked off when fans around hushed him. We saw them before walking over to OT and they were wrecked, but in good humour. It's a shame one or two let them down.
It was NOT Wigan or Saints fans, who were brilliant tonight.

Having seen that group of fans earlier in the day (actually we nearly ran some over when they decided to run infront of the car) I can't say that shocks me much.

Back of East Stand Tier One? If so, then it was indeed KR fans as I thought that's who I saw.

Not saying it was Wiganers, but it wasnt very good.'"
a few hullkr fans 5 rows in front of me were simply arguing with each other it was a disgrace i dont think they even knew it was a minutes silence
People were shouting at them to shut up and it took then at least 40 seconds to even notice
EDIT: yep those were the ones in army clothes

| I was in the upper tier of the East stand and clocked the sloshed Rovers lads mentioned on ere. The less said about them the better but although they might ave thought they were doin the right thing, those shoutin back at them to shut the f*** up should've just kept quiet.
Saints fans, to a man/woman appeared to respect the minutes silence. Good on ya.

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| This a reply to a few earlier posts, as much as Newton a great player and in some instances he was the best at what he did. There no way you can have a minute round of applause,,, only because of the manner of his death. The minute silence was more than sufficient. It's a crying shame that there was the odd few showing no respect and makin a mochery of Newton. But to me I will always remember Newton in the game vs Aussie in nz, when gb won, what a game he had that night...... Gone but no forgotten rip terry
