For reference, Wigan is like the Roman Empire. Warrington is like the pillow fort I built in my bedroom when I was 9. Ok, 26...

| Difficult question to Answer I definitely think Dave Woods could make a team to compete i think Oldham's biggest problem is there stadium which I don't think would make it up to standards.

| York = Could make a go of it, Proven Quality coach, decent fan base to start improving from, ground mediocre but just about meets standards with very little improvements needed. "Possible new 6000 capacity ground with York City with potential to expand to 9000 to be started in 2012" Vibrant youth set up and thriving amauture scene in local area. Potential for 2000+ crowds in Championship.
Oldham = Great existing squad wouldn't need too many new signings to be competitive in the Championship, Great Proven coach. Fair fanbase to improve from. Ground not fit for purpose in any way shape or form. Reasonable local amauture scene. No idea what youth set up they have. Could make ago of it but not at the Whitebank Stadium.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

That would be a shame mate. I thought the ground held about 1,200, which you would imagine would be more than adequate?
Anybody know what the average championship attendance is over the whole division?

5728.jpg The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind
The kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you.
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Don’t waste your time on jealousy-sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself:5728.jpg |

| We at Oldham are very aware of the ground situation and have measures in place. Terracing and more seats will apparently go in over the break. Rumours about our ground surface about every 40 mins at the moment tho.
Our reserves finished 5th in the league behind Whitehaven, Featherstone, Leigh and Widnes.
Oldham-always the bridesmaids!
This year may be our year, but I know there's definately a less desperate air this year after the year we've just had!

| An exert from an Article last week reference Oldham and Blackpool's grounds. And i think it's a shame if for example Oldham did win that they were not allowed into the Championship just on there ground alone. (And York is my home town too)
Oldham, who beat York in last week’s Championship One qualifying semi-final, and Blackpool, whom the Knights meet on Sunday for the right to face the Roughyeds in the Grand Final, have both been warned their grounds do not come up to scratch for the higher tier.
They have been given a list of improvements by the Rugby Football League which, if not met at some point before the 2011 season, would mean they have to find a new home should they win the play-offs or stay in Championship One.
This could open the door for the Knights – the only other team still in the running – to be offered the second promotion place after champions Hunslet, even if they do not win the Grand Final.
More likely, the second-bottom team in the Championship, Whitehaven, could be spared relegation.

Hasn't it been said that the costing of the seating is too expensive?

The step up to the Championship is a big one.
From what I saw in the Keighley vs York NRC Quarter Final this season. They'd need to improve significantly to have any chance of staying up.
We beat them easily that day and we weren't good enough to stay in the Championship.

| Either way Championship 1 is going to lose one of the clubs with the best away followings in the division, for that I wish both clubs luck

I agree, but York were a different side then, the Coach was killing the team and the team was just going through the motions so to speak and we still suffered after nearly every single player leaving to go to Hunslet Knights, sorry i mean Hunslet Hawks, things have taken time and with Dave Woods in Charge and with him coaching his way the Knights have shown a good improvement, yeah not perfect but that will come in time.
