| Quote: meast "well it wasn't a game for the purists was it? like hemmings said on commentary its 5 drives and a kick all the way, hull were probably worse than wakey, they looked completely devoid of idea's. saying that however wakefield's defence stood up to what few attacks hull could manage and fully deserved the win.'"
I considered it a game for the purist imo. Just because the teams are not looking for an offload on every tackle or a expansive move every set does not mean that the game is not good (the fellas on the box are not great judges of RL imo). For too long imo SL games have been played with the players looking to push the play on every tackle without any any thought. Players in SL should be more patient with ball in hand (like the aussies) possesing better decision making abilities. You do not have to score on every tackle. One of the areas our lads lack is our decision making ability. Making players throw the ball around with no thought will never advance our game imo. The commentators were talking about this but i was thinking that both teams were setting up for position, instead of being negative. Either you are like QLD and can attack from deep or you have to work for something like field position. Makes me laugh in this country that if you dont chuck the ball about you are judged as negative. You may just be looking to set up position for something later.

I think in all fairness you are talking out of your bottom.
Was you at Belle Vue last week? He certainly didn't give us anything out of the ordinary against your team last week...
On the performance....
It was exactly what we needed after the confidence shattering performance last week. Last weeks was as bad as I can remember and know from reading our board that a lot of fans were at the lowest of the low with the way we crumbled. Most of the things we did wrong last week we did right tonight.
It was about trying to do the basics right and then more often than not the rest comes. When you stick to the gameplan and get into a winning position then the confidence returns and the points will come like it did in the last quarter.
It was a much needed solid all round team performance and a good two points..

| It was dull but tactically-perfect.
I agree that the Cooke try was a real blunder, as Ganson was so close, and the Yeaman try should have been given, but the best side won.

Just like last week then
Cookes try should have been disallowed but to be far if Ganson had sent it upstairs Thaler would have given it to Wakey anyway

| Straight forward questions
If the game had not been on TV would you A) Know that's Cookes try was dubious?
B) Have given a try as you had observed it at normal speed?
C) Know that Hulls disallowed try was for offside at normal speed?
That's the trouble with the Video ref system, it's trying to achieve "perfection" in a sport where it is impossible to achieve because of so many variables.

| Quote: Matty_HullFC "Because Yeaman was in front of the play of the ball. It looked debatable on the telly but the lines-man seemed adamant so fair enough on the call but when the hell do you ever see something like that given? Where's the consistency?
Also enjoying how despite at least half of the PTB's not been played 'correctly' only select ones get called up. The ref swung the game. He first gave the penalty for not playing the ball (which again is fair enough as long as they do it consistently), then Wakefield take one drive, play the ball as bad as Tansey, then Cooke goes over and knocks the ball on... Great refing.'"
Its getting abit ridiculous with the ptb now, when we played kr earlier in the season the ref actually asked the video ref to check if the play off the ball was correct leading upto the try, the ptb wasnt correct but the try was awarded anyway. The the next game we played we got a penalty for incorrect ptb when we near the opposition line.
There is absolutly no consistancy.
