| Quote: Ashulster "As long as the scrum it doesn't end up like union with the endless restarts, then i don't mind, agree it's should be quick.
Other changes needed are the speeding up of the tackle area / play the ball. I noticed faster play the balls in the French Elite league. Only problem is, speeding SL up might tire already tired players out even more, by the time it comes to the end of the season. At least the clubs will be discussing it this week.'"
I hope it does tire them out, then we know we have to work on fitness etc...we need to step up and then maybe we can compete in the International arena.

| I agree with both rules, especially the scrum one. The players that pack down to stop the clock, should then have to be the players that go into the scrum in the positions that they packed down to stop the clock, rather all break of and then get set in the correct positions.

You need to quote mate, then we all know you are referring to Dally....Hang in I am sure you will get used to it, most of us are not interested in how a post looks as long as it is good discussion point

| erm I disagree with the scrum one and someone else made the point clear enough.
If you tried to interfere with the dropout one someone would just feign an injury in a point where they'd be interfering with play if it resumed.. trust me.
If however a referee were to see a player deliberately clear the ball an instant sin bin could be given

| the scrum one is nonsense. More often than no it is the attacking team looking to form a quick scrum, so they rush and form it as quick as possible to get the clock stopped. the defending team will still simply wander over, form their scrum as they wish, and the attacking team would end being the one to lose out as they couldnt form their scrum as they wished as they had committed the crime of rushing to restart the game.

| Clock off as soon as the ball is dropped/out of play for me, we have a clock that stops, why let it run down when they aren't playing?
Too much time wasted without playing for me. Just make it a penalty if they waste too much time, but for me I'm bored of "scrums" in RL anyway.

| Dont say that, you'll get lynched on here!
i think 1min inbetween tries is too long too. stop the clock after 30 seconds.
The only person that loses out currently is the paying spectator

My apologises some-one with a similar name posts on there..
Why would I translate when other posters clearly understood and joined in the debate...without resorting to having a go at new posters like you did, who put you in charge of how posts should look
Plus I suggest if you are going to get high and mighty and criticise posters you should at least use the right words..Coherent is the word you were looking for I believe!!

Players slow down the drop-out to gain recovery time. They don't usually give a fart about stopping the clock. Hence why I suggested a 1 min period... If someone is injured/feigns injury then get them moved off the field of play in time, otherwise, as I suggested, simply restart the game with a play the ball to the attack once the mess is cleared up.

I understand that it is there for a breather, which is against the attrition nature of the game (like it or not), but I don't really see a need for an arbitrary figure for the drop-out like 1 min. Just have it as a similar rule to throwing the ball away after a knock on, a penalty. From 10 in front of the posts probably?
Although I understand the problems with our fans and referee's discretion, but I don't think this is [ithat[/i much of an issue.

Why not just pack down with the players that have formed the scrum to stop the clock.
Anyway what is the fascination in constantly speeding up the game, any game like ours needs periods where players catch their breath.

Thanks for that
Scooter Nik. Yeah right. Of course she is, probably turned up her toes in disgust at having spawned a prat like you:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_44411.png |

| I think that if there is more than one in the tackle you shouldn't be able to drive the ball carrier back in goal for a drop out. If the guy can make it out that's good enough effort for me but allowing 2-3 guys to push him back takes the pi$$

I realised that, did apologise
I think if we want to compete in the International arena we have to speed up our game, to much time wasted in our game, often abused as well. I personally like a fast flowing game.
