| ok radical thought
ditch it for SL but take all the cup quarter finals to somewhere, or even both the semis, guaranteed bigger crowds and a more excitement for neutrals?

What is wrong with holding the two semi's as a double header as well? That lind of event would make a great road trip to take to some of the places people have mentioned.

| What about trying for St James' Park?
Slightly smaller ground and nearer to the heartlands so easier to fill and Newcastle is a good night out.
Let Gateshead play a home game to make it 4 on each day and help to promote the game in a non heartland area where there's a stuggling semi-pro club with a big catchment area.

| I usually run coach trips for these sort of events but couldn't gain interest this year because it was Edinburgh. Last year we had a lot of problems getting into the pubs in the area. Even Danny Houghtons 75 year old grandmother was refused entry for no apparent reason.
I've just spoken to Wolfie who's there now and he tells me its exactly the same this year. Last night was so bad they ended up just going back to the Hostels early and watching TV.
I know from people that come on my trips that if the event was moved back to Cardiff id fill a coach within 5 minutes.
Take it back to Cardiff and move it to later in the summer months ie August. Play the games on a 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th basis decided just a week before.
This event still has a place in our game. Promote the game better and earlier and give each club a target of tickets to sell with no sales available on the day.

| Just bear in mind looking at the current poll results that many of people up for these events will still be at the event and not have voted on this poll.

| Keep it, just move it further South closer to all the clubs. As already suggested, East Anglia or as an alternative, how about Midlands Magic?
2 at the Ricoh Arena, 2 at Walkers Stadium, 2 at St Andrews and 1 at Molineux?
People wouldn't have to worry about accommodation as it's near enough to the Heartlands but also within driving distance for more fans from Wales, more fans from London and also probably easier for Catalans fans to get to?

It was a fantastic day, atmosphere great, banter with different clubs fans and there wasnt a gap in the entertainment for over eight hours, amazed at how few attended
all that for £15 - excellent!

I think it will probably have to be held in one stadium or at the most two that are in very close proximity due to the cost of renting stadia and the problems of moving fans that want to see all the games between different venues. I agree though that the event should be brought to a location that is in between the northern clubs and the expansion clubs. This would also allow the fans in RLC areas to be attracted to attend the event. Cardiff would be my preference.

Just realised, I missed out one - Villa Park.
The only problem is that these are football stadiums and some may be involved in final matches at home. Although, they could be decided mid-June when football fixtures come out.
Villa Park and St Andrews would be superb.

| There are two ways to look at it.
Do the RFL succumb to Steve McNamara, the England coach, (and the rest of the SL bosses for that matter) and scrap the 27th game of the season. Then, for the first time in only God knows how long, the regular season fixture list will be FAIR. Can't believe they get away with it to be honest. There is a free weekend in the calendar for an international with France, or whoever, and the players remain that little bit fresher.
Or, do the RFL persist with taking it around the UK in search of raising (much-needed) funds. Forget all this spreading the game rubbish, I bet very little of the crowd over the 2 days were unconverted Scots. If the RFL choose this option, it undoubtedly needs revamping.
In my opinion, it would be more appealing if it was to be a Challenge Cup bank holiday. Perhaps the quarter-finals, all on one day, or one on an evening and the other three the following day. This would also solve the fixture list problem and help McCormack's cause as England boss.

I reckon you could convert more people further South than North. Plus, those that have relocated South are more likely to get more mates that are not League fans to come along and enjoy the atmosphere. You only have to look at Crusaders' impact in Wrexham to see the potential rewards. Taking seven Super League games to within closer distance of the Heartlands but still enough to delve into Union territory could provide the impetus. Especially if football fans see just how entertaining and cheaper the game is compared to their prices. 7 games for £25 is a synch and I bet many football fans would take it up.

McCormack? I dread to think
I think the downfall of the current event is that there are too many teams involved and too many games - it's almost as if we're saying that one or two big games can't take place without being supported by all the other clubs as well.
It's certainly a 'Super League idea' if such a thing existed (even if the majority of clubs don't appear to be in favour of it any more) and I don't want the Challenge Cup to degenerate in to summat that has to be billed as the 'Wacky Races', but I can certainly see the virtues in having the Cup semi finals as a double header. Would mean a slight alteration to the calendar though, bringing them slightly earlier in to the season as the current three week gap between the semi's and the final is far too short IMHO.
