| What's he been dobbing/complaining about?
If that's the case, what little respect I had for him has now vanished.
Some of the worst people you can meet are dobbers/serial whingers and complainers.
It's a damn footy forum, people put their opinions across, don't like them opinions, put them on ignore or stay away.

im not too fussed if union does it, its more money that a sport with so much money cant produce any decent players like the nrl can.
we just keep producing them
seriously, we are just too good.

People had a choice back then like they do today.
I'm all for people getting as much as they can, why not.
The only thing I'm not happy about is the fact that when RL got players from Union, it was the individual clubs going after players, these days we have the people running the code paying for players out of spite and then deciding where they'll play them, not clubs doing it out of strengthening their team.
That in my opinion is a big difference.

The strength of RU is the international game and everything is geared towards that. The clubs are basically funded from the income generated by the internationals.
It is no surprise that the RU bosses identify potential international players from RL and target them. They then act in the best interest of the international game and place players where they believe they will receive accelerated development.
RU is a bit like the AFL in that they know the sport is bigger than the sum of its parts and that acting for the common good delivers significant benefits.
Sadly RL is less than the sum of its parts because the strength is in the club game and fighting for the common good simply doesn't enter the heads of the CEOs of the clubs

Given we struggle get coverage I can't see the NRL being prime time in Burkino Faso, Chad and the Gazza strip.
There is a difference between someone having the rights and actually broadcasting the games - be interesting to know how much they paid for them; that would give you an indication of how valuable they are. Most likely they will have included free in a package that includes Neighbours and Home and Away.

| Doesn't matter to me how much they paid for the rights as long as people can watch the matches be it either expats or others new to the game.
3 games a week in the UK with live origin, tests and the GF on Sky should do the UK fans.
That's more games from the NRL shown each week over there than the SL gets.

Agree; 4 games this week - but the three games a week is a trial for two months; then they will charge for it. If the demand isn't there we will be back to five games a year.
