Scots are very welcoming and there is loads to do in Edinburgh. Plus it's great to get together and have a drink with fans of other clubs. I am looking forward to the weekend.

Thats good and well if the magic weekend is your priority but for most they fork out for Catalans away initially and then maybe Harlequins away before even thinking about Murrayfield. You can't lay all your cash out at once and by the time you begin to think about Murrayfield (and in truth I've not begun thinking about it yet) the costs have spiralled.

Although I think Wigan v Huddersfield will be a cracking game, it isn't a derby in any sense and we play them just two weeks later anyway. I'll be making a day trip of it, but it'll be more of a chore this year than a pleasure.

You don't have to, the vast majority of hotels pay either on arrival or departure, only Travelodge out of the budget chains take payment in advance, trains go onsale three months in advance, it doesn't take a great deal of planning to cut costs. We all knew the dates for this at the event last year, so that is a whole year people have had to sort things.

We followed the same routine when going to Cardiff, book the hotel as soon as we could, most book 12 months in advance, no deposit needed, no cancellation fee if things change, cheap rates locked in, Innkeepers lodge did it three nights for the price of two. Gives you a good amount of time to save for it.

Going up their for the first time this year so don't know what to expect so, went to Cardiff two years ago and enjoyed it.

Cannot make Edinburgh this year, but went to both Cardiffs, great concept that hopefully the RFl will keep, what about holding the event in Manchester, one day at OT 2nd day at COM, the stadiums are only 4 miles apart (according to Google) so shouldn,t be much hassle getting to either and of course the vast majority of supporters can travel over for the day.

Its a brilliant weekend, fingers crossed for decent weather though!!

When I looked they were twice the rate that they were outside that weekend.

As to quick off the mark I once tried to book a hotel in Cardiff within minutes of an event being announced and tourist info told me ALL hotels were fully booked (which was clearly a lie, just they were operating a cartel). These cities know how to abuse supply and demand.

If cost is a problem stay just outside of these places.

Livingstone, Glasgow etc cheap as chips.

It's the same in South Wales. If you stay in Newport, Bridgend, even Bristol you'd get it a lot cheaper for the sake of a train ride that is less than £10. In the first two cases a lot less.

I hope so my brother and his girl friend went up last year and they said it was better then Cardiff.
