| This would be the Ryan Bailey who was trying to belt Fielden when Barrie Mac was holding Fielden so he could not defend himself?

| I've never fully got the way in which Bailey is "singled out" by supporters as the apparent epitome of everything that is wrong the the game / Leeds / props / society as a whole.
Every club has players who a capable of thuggish behaviour, far more than anything that Bailey has done.
I've seen Barrie McDermott and players of that ilk do some pretty thuggish things, not hard but thuggish, yet he was portrayed as some sort of "loveable rouge". Without looking back at the stats, I'd stick my neck out and say that Bailey has had to attend relatively few disciplinary hearings at Red Hall - if that's the measure then where's the "Terry Newton is a thug" thread? There's plenty of irony in that it's St Helens supporters that are usually the most vocal against Bailey (stemming from the hit on Fa'asavalu), clearly forgetting about the actions of a certain Sonny Nickle for example. James Graham, whilst being a very talented player, is hardly the "model professional" either and off the field, Bailey's record is certainly comparable to that belonging to a certain stand-off. That's not a defence of what Bailey does. It's pointing out that he is nowhere near this "pariah" that people make him out to be.
Bailey does what he needs to do in the Leeds squad. He's a bit part player who doesn't cost the club a fortune on the salary cap and comes on to do a job - one that he does fairly well. That he seems to command plenty of attention on here says more about the people who are wound up by him than Bailey himself IMO.

Its more about the way bailey plays the game, ie mouthing off sledging, then comes in 3rd man, doesn't do the hit ups of other players, just my thoughts mind you

It’s a bit of an obsession isn’t it though?
I bet you have a poster on your wall of him to throw darts at in your spare time.

Since you’ve played rugby league you’ll know that you need every man on the field. Sometimes you have good games and sometimes you have bad. Ryan Bailey has been pretty good this year despite his injuries including the match in the grand final.
Rugby league on the pitch is rough and tough meaning things can boil over from time to time. I wouldn’t say that he’s the most feared man in super league. That’s a campaign headed by someone whose girlfriend went out with a while ago.
Rugby league is a team game end of.

| Ryan Bailey is a waste of time and money for Leeds. He genuinely contributes nothing. People say he's been part of a side thats won 3 consecutive titles, but I could have been that 17th man without Leeds losing much ground. If they had a quality young player there they would simply have found it easier to win the trophies they have.
And before someone lists the coaches that have picked him, SL coaches have very little say in player matters. If a coach comes over and Bailey is in the squad they just have to deal with it, it's not like they can release him.

Which is great news for Bailey as there are tougher team mates for him to hide behind when the going gets rougher after his cheap shots, and more talented players to win him the medals.
Nobody in this thread has accused any other Leeds player of being a talentless cheap shot artist so its hardly a club thing.

Nah cant you remember the 4 nations any critiscism of anybody who plays for leeds (or did so in the past) is an outright attack on leeds and is only done becuase they play for leeds.
When people complained about smith and mguire waiving the aussies through to the try line it was only because they played for leeds.
As for bailey, always said he was a cheap shot merchant. I think the fact is highlighted more because peacock is in the same team, peacock leads from the front, does the hard graft, doesnt take a backward step and commands the respect of other players. Bailey is the exact opposite of him.
iirc baileys played for queens at amatuer level, which woud explain alot.

| This the same Bailey who bricked it when faced with the Manly pack after he was coming in as 3rd men...they took exception to him doing it and he went and got hid.

| I once saw Bailey tackle a young Wakefield Academy player in a boxing day game. When he hit the floor in the in goal bailey drove the top of his head into this kids face.
Total bully who lacks the skill and heart to be really tough. I'd go so far as to say he is a coward. To be pitied, not admired. Ive heard strong rumours many of his teamates agree with me!
