I don't think parachuting a Super League team into an area of little or no interest in RL is in anyway putting down roots. The chairman of Wrexham FC himself has stated his motives for this move and I see it nothing more than self interest.

Leeds only brought just over 2 thousand to cas last year! admittadly it was terrible weather and on the tv, but the amount of traveling fans has been down since 2006.

Hull KRs crowds are around 8000 mark

they are an example of how a club in NL1 can turn it around

the new ground crusaders are playing in looks really good

It is the first game of the season and it is a new stadium but even so 4000 is very very optimistic. I'd say Saints are the only team who ever brought that to Widnes.

Just 6 years ago Hull KR would have been a failing club that had had over 100 years to build up a fanbase and hadn't. They never had a higher average crowd than Widnes and were usually lower than Leigh until the last couple of years.

Can you now stop using the ridiculous 100 years argument, teams have good periods and bad. There are many teams now getting 4-500 that at some stage in the last 100 years were powerhouses of RL, look at Swinton and Oldham for instance once the biggest game in RL although a long long time ago.

Secondly of course the RFL (being the sports governing body) should be the ones to determine when clubs are ready, no one is arguing against that, sorry to disappoint you.

What people are saying is that the RFL must not put expansion teams like the Crusaders before they are ready. The evidence is abundantly clear that they simply were not ready. The RFL made a promise to Samuels that they would be in Super League 2009, that is why he invested. The RFL need to learn that this particular method of expansion has failed dramatically and future attempts should not be rushed in the same way if it is to succeed.

Nobody is suggesting that the decision making is taken out of the RFL's hands or that we should stop expansion but you, in your sarcastic and idiotic tone because to you, that's how the rest of us think and that is what fuels your argument.
