I watched the NRL Grand Final on ESPN this year, haven`t heard anything to say it won`t be on ESPN next year aswell.

Its far better than the Boot n all show we have in England with them two muppets

I've never watched Boots n all so I couldnt comment.

Boots n all is terrible! It's a mixture of short highlights (not even all the tries, terrible topics and chat, and terrible analysis on the games.

ESPN only showed one AFL game a week when they had the rights to all of them during the play-offs, and I imagine they would do the same with NRL. They're so cheap they would rather show a 5th re-run of a Bundesliga game than a live Aussie game in the morning when there's nothing else on. Having only one channel makes it even harder to show much. Surely no-one pays for ESPN America alone, would anyone cry if they put an Australian game on it early?

You'd be surprised how popular that channel is. They were crying galore on another forum when it was rumour ESPN America would turn into a general ESPN sport channel - as it turned out they kept both.

Personally I think it'll be ESPN or nothing for the NRL. I think Sky will only be interested I think if the rights are given to them really cheap.

You have to remember though that Sky's coverage of NRL was pretty crap. Ok they had Origin and we got try highlights on Boots n All but the Live game they gave us was always the Saturday 10:30am game - which (because it's how the rights work in Australia) is always the match that Channel 9/Fox Sports deem to be the worst choice of the week.

Some weeks the coverage was widescreen, other times it wasn't. Not forgetting to mention Tulsen Tollett!

I have Sky so I hope they get the rights, but only if they give us the better choice of games.

Let us know how you get on, I really missed not having the games in the second half of the year, and going back to the Footy show it is a good watch imo as it lets you know a little more about whats going on, and when they have the players on the pannel its good to see what they have to say, really enjoyed Hindy on there last season
