'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world'

He was called Joost von der Winn

| Quote: prehensile "You might be thinking of Wilf Rosenberg ('The Flying Dentist'). I think he played for Leeds as well.
There were a few South Africans came over in the 1950s and 1960s : Tom van Vollenhoven and Len Killeen at Saints, Jan Prinsloo at Saints and Wakey, Alan Skene and Gert Coetzer also at Wakey, Fred Griffiths at Wigan, Piet Pretorius at Worky, not to mention some Rhodesians (as they were called then) - Johnny Gaydon at Saints and Widnes and Trevor Lake and John Winton at Wigan. Not 100% sure of the last couple, since this is all from memory
Unfortunately im not that educated (or old enough) in rugby league terms. The one im thinking of is Mark Johnson

| A fella called Sean Skelton played for us and captained South Africa in the 2000 World Cup. Think he was born in SA and brought up in Australia though. He played a fair bit of first grade rugby for South Sydney and Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL.
Good player too.
We also had a second-rower in the late 90's called Andy Ballot who was a born and bred South African. He also played at Doncaster and Hunslet.

| Notice none of these are South African Rugby League players who went to Australia or England to play Rugby League.
They are union players.....League doesnt exist in South Africa.

Haha, can't believe you are still going on with that crap.
On another note, I notice Andy Marinos is the current head of South African Rugby Union. I thought he was South African, but apparently not.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Marinos
Anyway, he did play for the Bulldogs during the Super League war!
Closer to home Skolars have Rubert Jonker, who has played plenty of first team but can't this year due to the new visa restrictions. Richard Lowe who has now gone home was one of Skolars best in 2007 & 2008.

Rob Loew signed for Wigan at the same time as Mordt. I think he was the Springbok captain at the time

Its time for a change! We need to get rid of the idiots running the RLIF before they damage the sport beyond repair!
Go the Tigers, Blues and Roos!: |

yes it does

| Quote: hutch "yes it does'"
It doesn't, I've proved it doesnt a number of times. The game is not played there unless someone can make a bit of cash....then union players have a game of League and fade back to rugby union.
