| He's got personality and gets people talking.
People need to take themselves a little less seriously.

I am not going to admonish him for his comments though no matter how much I wish he was stopped from commentating.

| Quote: Andy Gilder "Really?
A couple of high profile snipes from Inverdale and Jones apart, I don't remember the likes of Barnes and Morris, or Lloyd and Gower taking potshots at League when they're supposed to be talking about their own sports?'"
Barnes & Inverdale are the old school League-bashers, but Guscott & Healey love a pop at us too.
Thing is, when they make snide remarks about TGG and league > union converts (distinctly remember Barnes slagging Billy Whizz on his first appearance for England RU against Italy), I can't take offence. I just see it as them showing their total naivity. But to see Stevo do the same thing only suggests to me that he's as big a moron as they are
He does nothing for the popularity of the game outside RL and very few RL fans think he talks anything but rubbish.
Next time you go back to Aus Stevo, do us all a favour and book a one way (...and take Eddie with ya!)

Stevo has a level head, is not afraid to speak his mind on certain issues and above all is extremely enthusiastic about the game as well as providing entertainment. Exactly what a colour commentator should be. Who cares if some of his ideas are a bit outdated. I can't believe that people would prefer wooden pundits or 'journalism-course' morons like Dave Woods.

Actually talking to people who don't watch League and they think Stevo is fantastic on SSN.
I also think his segment is rather good, and far better then Martin uh uh Offiah on Sunday.

C'mon... Truth is, they're all gash. But then you could say the same thing about Andy Gray or Dewi Morris. The common denominator is Sky.
Still, if it's a choice between Stevo and Chris Warren (recently made redundant I guess - having moved to Sultana Sports), I know who I'd choose. I'd put my mortgage on Stevo!

All my mates down ere are keen on RL but predominantly watch other sports. They all think it's the likes of Stevo and Ray French that put them off watching the game for so many years, and even now ask me why we persist with them. Especially when trying to attract new audiences, who couldn't care less about League/Union rivalry and actually enjoy a bit of analysis, as opposed to semi-coherent ranting.

I actually like Dave Woods but he's one of the few from that category.
Stevo's also done so much in and for the game it's hard not to respect him.

| Stevo's alright really, he adds at bit of personality to skys coverage. Yeah he comes out with some right old nonsense but I find it quite funny, and I have a few mates who arn't big RL fans but they really enjoy listening to Stevo and his "Stevoisms". It will not be the same when he does retire.

| I like the bloke, a bit like the Harry Enfield character - George Whitebread. 'I say what I like, and I like what I bloddy well say.'
Ray French is like listening to your Grandad, Martin Offiah is just a very poor pundit and O'Connor is the poor relation in the Baz and Tez combo.
