| I don't have a problem with "home town" match officials.
I still believe that they are neutral regarding games.
But how 6 match officials can perform that badly as they did last night was either a one off, (every team has a bad day) or there are serious problems.
I would prefer to think it was a one off.

So relatives of referees are not allowed to follow a team?

I'm still confused by the decision Albert gave
If it was knocked on in the in goal area it would have been a drop out but still a try due to advantage
If it was a [idouble[/i tackle - Pen defence
If it was knocked on in the field of play - try -advantage gained
I cant see where he got scrum attack from- bizarre
Another one was when the ball was caught in goal having touched another player on route to the catcher but still in the air-Drop out under the sticks
In the Wire game something similar happened and when Briers challenged the decision it was given as a "tap 20".
My final "observation" was the hooter went at 79:30 on the sky clock

he demed the tackel was completed and he then lost the ball hence the scrum just the same as if he had lost the ball when playing the ball the decision was right by the way if he had lost the ball over the line it would have been a drop out most decisions last night were right just coz they are a new team does not mean they can play with a differant set of rules to the rest of us or can they

| I couldn't care less they are new I just felt the decision was bizarre. The player lost the ball ie tried to keep it in the field of play whilst still in motion. You can tell me all you want the ball carrying arm touched the floor but he was still moving hence why the ball continued to travel backwards towards the in goal.
Unusual

Nail on head.
Tackle was complete and ball lost after.
100% Correct decision.

You could argue that if the tackle was complete then it should have been a penalty to Wakefield because the Celtic player continued to drag him back towards the in-goal area resulting in the knock-on...
In all honesty though, the referee should have played the advantage and given the try, I don't see how you can argue it any other way

show me a rugby referee who never had an interest in RL until he was a ref in the super league and ill show my out off ackos fun bus all the way to barrow.
ben is from normington it is very likely that he was a wakey fan as a kid and having seen him officate many wakey games he seems to be quite neutral in fact a little bit too neutral at times.
although all it would take is the rfl to a revert back to no home town refs .
that way he could make sure cas and leeds always lose

Well said. RL seems to be the only sport where fans have a problem with home town officials.
Either an official is neutral or he isn't.

I can understand your annoyed, and although you were never going to win you certainly were not helped. Trust me Trinity fans have been there more times than you can imagine when it comes to dodgy reffing.
However Thaler is not pro Wakey and so what if his brother supports us, he is entitled to support whom he wants. The VR gave you the harshest calls as Thaler clearly referred all the doubtfull ones to him.
It's crap at the bottom but just move on you will get it in the end - whining doesn't help unless your Wes or a Hudd fan in general then it's a birth right

| The only difference that the Refs made was to your points difference really though. Crusaders were inept in many areas, ball retention mainly.
Although I do have sympathy for Celtic, it made no difference on the outcome of the game.
