disappointing gate in East Hull again tonight.......really thought with the new stand open they would have filled it twice.'"
Three games in Hull was just too many. It'll be close if not a full house at the KC next Saturday. With the two Craven park games that'll be approx 40,000 fans watching World Cup games in the city. Add in, many Hull fans won't set foot in Craven park even if Rovers aren't playing. Rovers only average 8000 for their own games and RL fans from other cities have always been reluctant to come down the A63 to Hull as 'Its a long way'. Should have been one game at Craven Park, one at the KC and the other should have been played at Doncaster IMO.

Hull is not on Mars, local suport was excellent. This is the RL World Cup, which is open to all, so get your to the game instead of moaning. Me and mine will be at the 3 Hull games, Headingley, Wembley and the final. It just takes some effort. There were a few fans from other clubs I talked to, but nowhere near the numbers at Huddersfield so to criticise the gate in East Hull, is in effect criticising the wider RL community for poor support.

I think Hull need to accept some criticism for poor gates for the 2 games in East Hull.

Not enough people turned up or bought tickets that were needed to make them good.

Look, it's Hull so they have to find something to moan about. How many of the members on this board went to the match?

| I think 3 games in Hull was asking a bit much. By some past World Cup standards, over 14k for the 2 games wouldn't look too bad. Of course, there might be some embarrassment that our game seems to be more popular in Bristol, but I suspect that will be short lived when we enjoy seeing a jam packed KC on Saturday.
Incidentally, isn't it a bit thick to take a double header crowd and simply divide it by 2 to get an average (unless you're deliberately trying to find a way to show a low average)? I can see that it's difficult to be exact, but there were certainly 10s of thousands at the Millenium for the second game.

Don't start that up again.

well it was announced as 45k for both games, might as well go with that. No harm in going for the positive angle.

| I don't think the crowd was bad personally.
3 games in Hull will have put a few locals off (as has been said, this was probably a game too many). And Monday night will have put a few non-locals off, especially with another game there on Saturday.
Hull might not be at the opposite end of the world, but equally it isn't necessarily an easy place for everybody to get to and back from on a week (and work) night.
All told, i wouldn't have expected many more than that, and i certainly wouldn't say it was overly disappointing.

| I think it's shows just how well attended the tournament has been as a whole, so far, that a 6.7k attendance for PNG & Smoa is viewed as 'disappointing'.
6.7k prior to the tournament, I think we'd be happy.
Also, there was talk a couple of months back of an attendance of 15k for the game at the KC as being about right, that one's set for 22k+.

| I suppose it's a sign of the success of the RLWC so far when we're talking about a 7k average at Craven Park being a disappointment.

Exactly. The precedent was set in that brilliant first week, but being realistic, we'd have taken 6.7k for this game a month ago.

| Before the World Cup I would have said you would be lucky to get 5,000 at Leigh for Tonga vs Cook Islands and it will be comfortably double that!
