It seems some people think a full back has to burst through the line 5 times a game and score a hat-trick every match to be good at their job.

Not really, 4 bursts and 2 tries per game would be acceptable. He has fallen way short of that.

So you think a full back's performance should be solely measured on line breaks and tries?

Yikes,
And I thought the smiley faces would show it was a tongue in cheek remark. Clearly you have had a humour bypass.
Just for you in straight forward language, no joking, just a humourless comment.
No I don't, he has played well in the tournament, tomorrow will be a big test for him and as long as he defends soundly and provides a link into the attack to open up the spaces which he has more ability than anyone else in the squad to do then he will have done all he can.

Soz, couldn't see them on the mobile version!
Which is what he's done so well all tournament. Positioning, handling, defence, timing. Brilliant.

| The comment that Sinfield has been annonymous just sounds like someone trying to defend their own club player by deflecting onto someone else.
I was not a fan of Sinfield being a half, pre-tournement and I was a fan of Chase being a half.
But from what I have seen, my opinions have been completely reversed. I'm not saying chase did not deserve a shot, but he's had several shots now and done nothing.
Personally I would have dropped him for the France game, but I think 30 minutes in the 2nd half of the game at the KC, may have saved him for another 80 minutes. But in the end he's done nothing.
The going home does seem a bit amateur dramatic. If he can't take being dropped, then it does not bode well for any future at international level. I hope Sinfield is right and he has taken it on the chin and is ready to work back into the team.
Sinfield has been getting pretty good scores from the Aussie press after each match, so it's nice to know I've not had a brain meltdown, completely on my own. If the aussie press can see he's been one of our best after laughing him off as world player of the year, then it shows he has turned the heads of a few people, not just England biased fans.

| That big wide pitch at Wembley should give both Tomkins and Burrow a lot of space to make hay with

| I love watching Burrow take on a line, I hate it when he takes a head shot for his invention.

The mark of a good attacking player for me is how they make you feel as an opposition fan. They get the ball and the 'Get hold of HIM!' shouts start and your foot starts going like it's jabbing for the brake pedal when the wife's driving. Burrow is one of those players and if he's used in a couple of late-half spells he's very effective. I can appreciate the calls for McIlorum too from having seen how the bloke leads from the front in crunch games but as a coach it must be hard to resist the temptation to include an unorthodox strike player like Burrow on your bench, I think I probably would given that it's a no brainer to start Roby anyway.

| Apparently McIlorum is injured and has gone for treatment on his back according to McNamara, yet McIlorum has been on twitter supposedly and said he's been dropped.
