Leigh have been training and playing longer than Toulouse. This French club will be a challenge to all the top teams for sure.

Toulouse have a great Australian scrum half, Nathan Wynne, who is huge for a scrum half, a very good hooker, and three polished Frenchmen --Anselme, Planas and Griffi. You can tell that Griffi has been built up physically, probably at Les Catalans. Those five are Super League quality.



Sylvain Houles also has Super League experience with London Broncos and Wakefield. Damien Couturier was at Toulouse in 2005, taken to Hull KR by Justin Morgan when HKR was in NL1, but let go when they went into SL. He played for Leigh I think. He is now back home in Toulouse.



If Toulouse can get Jean-Christophe Borlin into their pack, they will have a chance of gretting to the Championship grand final this year.

Does this apply to the Samoan, Cook Island, Welsh, Irish Scottish internationals then.... becuase what you just said seems silly.

Untrue, we only signed him on a short loan deal - he left before we one the NL1 GF.

Their candidacy to SL or the Championship? I have always been in favour of our feeder club being in the Championship and I don't see how beating two teams in that comp makes them SL worthy.



You are lining yourself up for a fall Albert, TO will not be in the top 4 this year. They have lost twice to Sheffield, who are a top-half of the table side, no better. They have beaten Leigh, which was an excellent acheivement, but my gran could have scored a hat-trick against them in those last 20 minutes, face it they gave up!

First Toulouse thumped Leigh 46-10.



Within two hours of that result Les Catalans had thumped Salford City Reds 38-6 , scoring 8 tries to one. Had the Catalans goal kickers been on target the score would have been 48-6.



We can see a pattern here. Two French clubs in two different divisions, start off their seasons poorly. Then they suddenly turn things around and are on their way from the bottom to the top of the table in their respective divisions.

They will always be hard to crack at there own pad, i watched the game today and thought they showed up very well in certain areas against a very poor Leigh side on the day.

Pretty awful one from where I'm sitting.

Another great win for Toulouse, no more no less.

It is starting to look like the lack of preseason preparation badly hurt Toulouse. The team is only now starting to gel. They have conceded many competition points that they need not have conceded, as a result of their poor preseason (e.g. against Sheffield).



There is still plenty of time for them to make the playoffs. If they can bolster their ranks with more French talent in May, especially in the forwards, then there is no reason why they cannot make the Championship Grand Final, and thus cement their Super League franchise for 2012



(Although making the grand final may not be necessary in Toulouse's case, it would be nice, just in order to silence the whingers from the small northern towns whose clubs don't get a SL franchise).

From the lads i know that went to the game, toulouse are the best team we've played in the league this year, supposed to be a big set of lads and a decent crowd on from all accounts.

l'indépendant gives the crowd as 3507, which is excellent (I would have guessed at half that from the tv pictures).

There are two grandstands along the side, and the main camera was in one of them. Hence you would not have seen a panorama of the fans in that stand perhaps?



Incidentally, why did you not go to the Toulouse game? Were you in Perpignan?

I heard through the grapevine that when his previous character (Albert Rosenfeld) was finally and deservedly banned from RLFans, he was also at the same time winding up members of a golfing message forum (and presumably was banned from that too!).
