I can see why the try was given. It was very close... But baring in mind the rules state both the players feet have to be behind the ball... and on the angle you couldn't see the ball due to the saints player being there(who incidentally was level with smith)...

The part where the ball is conviniently seen with the markings on the pitch where the grass is cut and Smiths feet are behind that line. The grass could always have been cut wrong but then again, I dont think so
