| Quote: salford1970 "Just had a quick look, breakdown for teams being shown is as below. Only 37 games being shown which is a shame.
Wigan 10
Leeds 9
Saints 9
Warrington 8
Hudds 7
HKR 6
Catalan 4
Cas 4
Hull 3
Bradford 3
Salford 3
London 3
Wakey 2
Widnes 2
Rooster 1
Feel especially sorry for Wakey and Widnes as one of the two games they are on is between each other so they get very little live coverage. In a perfect world all the teams would get reasonably equal coverage but that doesn't make ratings.
One question that comes from it, how much does each team get paid for their live game? If there is a fee for appearances then the likes of those at the top end will be getting financial advantages over the less shown teams, which does seem kind of imbalanced. Maybe there is no payment but I would be surprised if that was the case.'"
if the lower teams start to win more matches and get in the playoffs or big games then they will get shown more... huddersfield have worked their way up to being shown more now.
dont believe teams get paid money to be on sky sports more, the money is shared out equally from the tv deal amongst each club

| Are Sky promoting Super League whilst ignoring the Winter Olympics, hence is RL bigger than the Olympics ?!?!?!?!?

One of the matches scheduled is Leeds v London. Even now that has the hallmark of a one sided boring game with lots of points for Leeds, at home.
Surely this isn't the best match that week?
Why did the schedulers not look at the fixture list and plump for a game that week that, on historical basis, offered a better chance of a close fought tie?
The RFL should be sitting down with Sky and working out the schedule, doesn't mean we don't have the bigger teams on less, just the ties shown are all crackers (no offence London but you are on a hiding to nothing, pardon the pun, when you go to Leeds).

you get the closer games in the 2nd half of the season which are shown on sky sports. in theory anyway as they are the games which have more riding or interest in them.
got to have some variety in the first half of the season and show london too

Built for TV audiences, not the match going support. Wonderful.

No problem with showing games involving the lower-ranked teams, but why London away to Leeds? Why not a more evenly matched game with both sides having a chance of winning? Having said that, if London win at Leeds I wouldn't want to miss it.

Well unless they're total hypocrites who twist scenarios to suit some pathetic agenda then William Eve & Gutterfax will definitely believe so, yes.
Biggest dedicated sports channel in the country showing RL all day while ignoring the Winter Olympics.
How's that for a WC legacy!

| Quote: loiner81 " Trying to make predictions instead of dealing in current truths just reinforces the fact you already lost this one. First the World Cup and now this, you're not doing too well really.
Current truths?
The Current truth is that the current SL deal has 3 years to run and is less than the respective AND CURRENT deal for Union. To ease this pain, certain insecure RL fans (that's you BTW) will harp on about the NEW deal being bigger than the current union deal, ignoring the fact that the Union deal will be renegotiated in a couple of years time at which stage, 40 million a year might not look so sexy.
But, there I go again, drifting off into the future. As I say, currently, SL TV's deal isn't as big as the current Union deal.
As for the RLWC legacy
FU Superleague at what 'COULD BE' worth 750k a year is half the CURRENT sponsorship deal that Saracens RU have. Sammy-Gate with the RFU sniffing around a PR opportunity was the landing page story of the BBC when I posted it (nice choice to delay in answering), Bradford did go into administration, the RFL are paying the landlord of the London Broncos, the owner of the champions and one of the new money men in the game are questioning the business acumen of the sport "in the media" and the BBC's deal to show "live" international RL looks like being allocated a Sunday morning breakfast spot in 2014.
Yep.....SL XIX started at the weekend and the biggest positive was that 4 ex-London Broncos from 2013 were on show........amazing what a change of scenery can do for players!
By the way, questions regarding the RFL making payments to the Landlord of the Broncos should be directed to either the club or to the RFL. All I know was it was announced during a fans forum at the weekend.......apparently he's supposed to market the team with it, which I find strange given he gets to keep the gate receipts.

Sky dont release the games for the later part of the season until they know who is performing well and what the bigger "pulls" will be.

There you go with the union obsession again.
