From my time watching Brainiac when I was younger, I remember that you need 7 people to start one.
Just checked and the clip's on youtube. Search Brainiac Mexican Wave to find it as the mods will just edit it out if I link it here.

| Its out of your control. If every other person wants to do it then they will, if you dont then.. dont. A rant on here wont help or change it. There much bigger issues to vent your spleen about IMO but each to their own. Im not very keen on the blokes who drum incessantly throughout the game but I dont let it ruin my matchday experience. Chill out man its not that much of a big deal.

| Some people seriously lack a cultural identity and boycott fun. We're not all into flat beer and dour grey culture-less mediocrity thanks. I love Mexican waves. Bring them on.

| The only thing more annoying than a Mexican wave are the drunken nob heads who start them. Then they get all abusive when you don't stand up shouting wayyyy. Hate them!

| I don't like them, but normally just ignore them. Each to their own and all that.
However at Hull, two people who I've never met in my life, and probably never will again, decided to call me a grumpy bar steward (amongst other unrepeatable things) because i didn't feel the need to throw my arms in the air and shout "WHEYYYY". Things like that annoy me!!

| To be honest, the games have needed them to create any type of atmosphere.
Have only been able to watch England on TV and at times it's ridiculous how little noise 25,000 people manage to make at points in the game, the atmosphere reminded me alot of a women's football match. At least when the Mexican wave is going on it sounds good on TV becasue there's loads of noise but you normally can't actually see what's going on in the crowd.
Not sure why UK RL fans haven't worked out how to create an atmosphere at England matches yet. Looking forward to going to Wembley on Sat, just hope we can get a few songs going...

| If you ever get to watch a live game in Aus. They don't do singing, Mexican waves etc. they are too busy watching the game. I don't go to a match for the atmosphere I go to see two sides batter each other and feel entertained. I hope to god I'm never board enough to want to start singing or taking part in a wave

Ha.
I do know what you mean, I'm not one for shout and screaming normally either. My point was more about how it has been sounding on TV though. It's just bizarre that there are so many people there sat quietly, and I would have thought the general perception of someone tuning in randomly for the first time would be that the crowd aren't that into the game.

| All good fun, stop being so boring, sit in your seat with your hands under your pits grumping about the cost of beer at the ground instead if you dont; like them. The kids love it and even better when the crowd is organised and takes along confetti to throw!
