| Yes he is a great talent & will improve ten fold if wants to, but lets give a bit of credit to the forwards who gave him a bit of time & space to work with. JJB & Wilkin who seem to have taken a lot of negative on here were great & took on a greater load when Ellis & Graham got hurt. They gave us momentum going forward, Not one player let us down though Chase will fit in better when those around him realise that he will always be trying something different & to keep alert when he has the ball.

when the names where read out Tomkins got one of the best receptions. suppose the boo boys dont make it as far as wembley.
I hope for RL he stays in Super League, fantastic talent. He seems to of got fid of some niggly parts of his game too.

Not just him, I thought he was very good as well. just gets boring if I mention everyone. Though a couple of times he was busy getting the next play sorted out when the rest of the players should know what the plan is.

This came up last week in discussions about the Kiwis. Too often we can be focusing on the next PTB before the current tackle has been completed i.e. the Australians hover around the ball carrier in case something does happen whereas we're already prepping up for first receiver and next ball carrier.

The niggly parts of his game aren't that easy to spot when he's on your side though.
He was doing all the little things he does for us yesterday but when he's on your side you just see competitiveness and not niggle. He was wriggling about for pens and pushing and shoving players out of the ruck or trying to grab the ball back of them. He had a go at Paul Gallen at one point which sums the lad up.
He'll rip in against anyone because he wants to win so much.
He's such a rare talent because he's got great natural ability backed up by an even better attitude.

| He was top draw yesterday. Australia couldn't handle him. If Slater had have produced some of the skills he produced yesterday we wouldn't have heared the end of it from some posters on here.

| I just keep thinking how much stronger this english team could be with burgess and o'loughlin in it, we're catching up with the aussies this is the first aussie side which I havent actually been afraid of us playing, we just need to tighten our defence on the fringes. This team is going to get better, with the likes of Charnley, Watkins, Jones Bishop, Gaskell, Lomax and Mossop to name but a few I think the two teams are going to start to become closer!

| Tomkins was motm for me for england, and the ref was the motm for oz! next time we should use an english ref. our worst players for us were the auzzies and kiwis, let's replace them with mcguire, brough and atkins.

| What impressed me more about Tomkins was his behaviour and attitude in the game. Showed plenty of maturity and skill, hope we see more of it.

I agree. Some posts made in threads yesterday made some of these comments, but they seem to have disappeared off the forum. I have no idea why.

reed was excellent, widdop needs to start at 6 and not off the bench.

I'd agree in respect of Chase and Heighington; I thought Reed had a good game though and I see no reason he shouldn't keep his place.
As for Tomkins - I've been very critical of him in the past due to his niggly, house tactics; I thought he looked a significantly better player yesterday, when he seemed to be concentrating more on playing rugby and less on cheating. He lapsed into old ways briefly in the second half and decided to have a bit of handbags with the Aussie who had just played the ball and as a result, missed a cover tackle and a try was scored. Hopefully he'll learn something from that.

| I'd bring Mossop into the team NOW if we are allowed to.
Widdop to stand off
Sinfield to the bench as interchange hooker
Carvell in for JJB or Wilkin
