My friend is a researcher for sky sports and he tells me that Stevo is absolutely loved by the other presenters and is the reason that both Simon Thomas and Ed Chamberlain are now both avid fans, who have attended many a game with him.

Well its that sort of inside info I don't have.

As people have stated he is a nice man to talk to and loves the game yet as soon as the cameras role this alter ego takes over and he just rambles on. It used to be entertaining.

The thing in my opinion that makes Stevo bearable is that he has Eddie next to him who half the time appears to be watching a different game to the rest.

Viva Stevo - I managed to get a complete anti sport enthusiast to watch the Cas v Wire game, and even though he didn't fully understand what was going on - he really enjoyed the game and said that "that strange second commentator" made the game even better as he was so passionate about the little things.

He's comin to the Shudds game with me now - Stevo ftw!

Said it before - Eddie and Stevo were fine when it was just them two commentating. But since they added a third commentator (Phil Clarke) and now a fourth commentator (rotated) as well the commentary has just ended up being a too many cooks spoiling the broth situation.

I've said it before, Stevo is a great commentator until he starts adding his opinion to things. That's what the summarisers are there for. Your opinion isn't worth much these days so leave it to the bloody experts, Stevo!

I really wish stevo would research the teams he is commentating on. Last week he was banging on about 'Shenton' when Brent Sherwin kicked a ball through. He's just spent 5 minutes calling Kopczak 'Hall' - can't he see that he doesn't have an awful moustache?

Stevo is very enthusiastic and I agree his style is perfect to get the attention of a casual viewer who doesnt regularly watch our games.

He is annoying though for most regular viewers. Why does he always say the ref is playing 'advantage' when they fail to penalise the defender for laying on. Its usually on the 4th tackle with the play in midfield. Hardly an advantage to play on rather than blow up for a penalty and another set of six

The sky commentary has progressed though. Carney, O'Connor & McDermott all get my vote

O'Connor should be nowhere near a mic! As far as being uneasy in front of a camera goes he's only probably beaten by Dean Windass

Boots n all isn't a highlights show. It's a magazine programme. Have you not watched it for the last 3 years? Boots n all - The tries, is on Tuesday nights... That's the highlights show.

How many times does Stevo say "either way got away with it". I wish him and Eddie would commentate rather than spewing out opinions like "that was forward" and "they're offside". It seems everything has to be controversial.

Strange that--I have heard completely the opposite and that the atmosphere within the production team is dreadful. Clarke and Stevo dont get on and over the past couple of seasons there have been many differences of opinion during games which makes things worse off screen. Clarke is also regarded as arrogant by staff.
Stevo does a great deal to promote the sport and 'without a doubt' loves RL but the so called comedy banter between Eddie and him is embarrassing at times and there are far too many negative comments. The RU equivalent show to Boots N All is polished, articulate and makes a good job of making a poorer spectacle seem interesting.

Stevo isnt the problem. Everyone i know who isnt an avid RL fan says the same thing. They would watch paint dry if he commentated on it, his enthusiasm is that infectious.

What we need is a better commentator. Stevo adds great colour, Clarke can talk about the more technical side which with a stronger commentator would be the perfect mix.

Eddie is the one that needs to go. He often gets the rules wrong, makes massive interpretation errors in the rules and doesnt really adequately describe whats going on. A strong lead would keep stevo relevant and his enthusiasm wouldnt be so misplaced leaving more room for a technical analysis from Clarke/Mcdermott/Carney
