| These anti-Sinfield threads always baffle me. The guy is quite simply a legend of the modern game.

| I would ignote most of the Giants fans on here.
Only Little Ivor has got it right it should be Sinfield and Brough.
Two kickers one left footed and one right sinfield who is excellent on planned kicking plays and Brough who can adapt to the slightest change in a defensive position. The tries he has set up with clever kicks this year when a winger or centre is out of position are numerous. He has made Murphy look to have the finishing abilty of AA Rosenfeld.
It is Chase who is the weak link. No kicking game, little ability to work as a team player he is too off the cuff but not good enough to beat the aussies and Kiwis which is what we want.
Behind a big pack and with pacy backs, speed in the middle to work gaps with a tiring defence England have a great chance BUT Brough and Sinfield need to play together now.

Is he?
Higher end plodder that was gifted the Golden Boot by a local magazine to boost their sales.
He is not the best at anything other than goal kicking and the sum of his parts does not make him a great player.
Greg Inglis and Cam Smith are great players, Sinfield is not even on the same page.
From an England perspective Tomkins is a far better player and asset to a team.

Bless. You sound like a bitter fan of a rival team.

| well, after seeing sinfield live again, I still fail to see what he brings to a game?
he was poor yesterday again and his errors are seemingly proving costly to leeds at the moment.
I don't want to seem like im picking on the bloke, who has been tremendous for leeds but I just fail to see what he offers at the moment?
as for the national side, again, if his poor form continues can we really justify his selection, presuming as captain he will be selected?
I thought brough was good yesterday but not brilliant by his usual high standards, but still showed why he is the best half back around at the moment.

agreed, he hasnt been on top of his game over the last few weeks. His usual pinpoint kicking game has been all over the place and even his goalkicking has been poor.
He did do some good things though yesterday and his defence has been superb.infact he has probably had to do too much defending which may be having an effect on his general performance in controling the game as leeds' playmaker.

| Sinfield doesn't need to play well - He will NEVER be dropped by Leeds or England so it matters not what he does on the field anymore.
I actually found a Rhinos fan who suggested he should be dropped if his form doesn't improve yesterday !!!!

He would probably benefit from a rest. That said, as you say he is not going to be dropped by Leeds or England at this stage.
He may get some rest soon anyway, with the free weekends your lot have given us by knocking us out of the cup

Apart from being Leeds' second highest tackler for the season so far. Sinfield is doing too much defence to compensate for not having a traditional hooker.
Bar a couple of brain farts he was actually pretty good yesterday.

| without sounding like im being disrespectful, can you explain to a neutral, watching the game yesterday how sinfield was pretty good?
I didn't think he did anything above ordinary, he certainly didn't stand out, apart from his try and a few errors.
obviously as a leeds fan you have more of an idea on what sinfield did or does to make him pretty good?
as for defence then all players have to do a shift in defence, brough for example is involved in a lot of defence for the giants, but also kicked a 40-20 and put in some good kicks both defensively and offensively.
and surely if the way leeds play makes sinfield do a lot of defensive duties thus nullifying his attacking threat, then the coaches should be sorting that out?

he led the team around the park, was very solid in defence, took his try well.
Brough may do a lot of defence but nowhere near as much as Sinfield, Sinfield has made 367 tackles so far this season with 52 missed tackles, Brough has made 184 with 25 misses, thats a big difference, and yes I think its not helping Sinfield play the creative halfback role, I think we are missing a lunt/buderus type hooker, but having said that we are far higher up the table than this point last year and who am I to disagree with a double SL winning coach.

| Watched him live again on Sunday. If that's the best player in the world, then the sport really is in trouble. Only highlighted what a ridiculous choice it was. He's a decent player, that's all. Will his selection give the Aussies pause for concern? No, not in a million years. That's the only thing you need to ask.
