Do you seriously believe that?
Huddersfield Giants have played London in the Capital 18 times in Superleague. If you remove the ridiculous double header crowd from 2006 (12,301.....yeah, in the bar maybe), then the average attendance for your trip south is 2,762 making you the 5th worst draw of all 21 teams to have played in Superleague. Gateshead, Celtic, Catalans and Saldford are the only teams less attractive.
Halifax, Sheffield, Workington, Oldham, PSG and Leigh are teams no longer in the comp who were all bigger draws.
the above is based on statistical fact by the way....not based on your dodgy hearing or eyesight

| Without wanting to be overly critical, how many other teams would manage as low a crowd as that for a challenge cup quarter final?

a true fan would attend regardless of opposition, wendyball on sky, entrance fee etc!
this crowd shows how few 'true' hudds fans have unfortunatley!
hell, i watched the Hudds game in a pub in Halifax, and sat behind us was a 'fan' in a hudds shirt who had been to the Shay instead! classic!
the problem at the minute at Hudds is that they only get decent SL crowds because most their 'fans' paid peanuts for the season ticket, and it just so happens that at the minute you have a good team and are doing well in all comps.
what will happen to your crowds when Davey gets fed up of giving away season tickets for nowt and when the team hits a bit of a sticky phase?!
Saying bye bye to Brown, this could happen sooner than you think.
76560 Giants v wolves challenge cup final attendance in 2009.....decent enough crowd for you?

| Lol that's almost amusing
Out of interest which of these reached the level deemed "acceptable" by the worthies on this thread? And what is acceptable?
Fev v Cas - 4165
Widnes v saints - 3069
Keighley v Wire - 2196
Bulls v Dons - 3210
Wigan v Cru - 4198
Fev v Wigan - 4082
Just so we know what the benchmark/criteria is to pass this kind of thing

This.
I'd ask the Huddersfield Giants board just what "value" they have placed on a season of rugby league at the Galpharm. This is a club that has the cheapest season tickets in the league and has regularly given out free tickets (or at least, 'free to the end user' tickets, before people point out that they've been paid for by sponsors) to notable fixtures. How much does the Giants board think that watching the Giants is actually worth?
The same question applies to the fans and the people of Huddersfield - how much do you think watching the Giants is worth? How does that compare to other leisure activities in and around Huddersfield? Do you think that you are paying a fair price to watch the Giants? That's not a dig or a criticism, it just goes some way to potentially answering this problem.
Personally, I think that the Giants are under-selling their product and that their support base is either one that isn't prepared to pay the 'going rate' (because they don't perceive it as value) or is one that has simply got used to "cheap" rugby. Either way, the Giants (and others) now find it very difficult to convince punters that the actual value of a match is £20 (or whatever the gate price is) rather than whatever they've paid with their heavily subsidised season ticket when the time comes to charge for cup or PO tickets.
This isn't a Giants specific problem per se and it's not exclusively a dig at them. After all, after every round of the cup, at the Magic weekend, at every round of the play-offs and at internationals, we get the "there should be free / cheap tickets" argument, but I think the Giants example is the most obvious. Whilst I appreciate that RL isn't played in the most affluent parts of the world, particuarly in the current climate, it should probably be asked whether we under-selling the sport or whether it is just that RL (either at club level or game-wide) is followed by people who think that the idea of paying more 'tuppence ha'penny' for an evening's entertainment is unreasonable?

For clarity of comparison, which of those are all Superleague QF ties?

| Which of those asked travelling fans to make a round trip of a few hundred miles on a Sunday night?
So answer the question - which of those games is acceptable and what is acceptable?

that widnes v saints one was awful!!!
but lets face it all cup games upto the semi final are poorly attended compared to the league game.
