who? When did these players play 1st grade?
so we have two no names (from RU schoolboy backgrounds) and one player who has been signed predominantly as a publicity stunt by AFL. Hardly like the NRL is producing masses of players for other codes!

they tried to play first grade, and got dropped to reserve grade.
their nrl clubs basically told them they had no future in leagye and to go to union
now they play for the wallabies
one is apparently captain

NFL has a AFL player, Still not sure what point your trying to make? Do you think it is agood thing we are producing players for other sports because we can't afford to pay them what they can get in other codes?
ps it's not like there has never been any Kangaroos from a schoolboys RU background.

the nrl has lost between 30 - 50 players to other sports, throw in another 90 to super league and still its a fantastic competition.
the fact that other sports are chasing our players is a reflection of how good the sport is at producing them
when it comes to juniors the nrl beats AFL and union worldwide.
we really are that good. |

the brisbane lions have been around for donkeys years, won 3 straight premierships and still the sport isnt recognized enough in queensland?

It is called marketing - that is why the revenues generated by the AFL are so much larger than those generated by the NRL - these guys know how to promote a game and extract maximum revenues for doing so - simples!!!

| I'm sure that will come. In reality there is no bigger way of getting publicity than signing one of the top players in the top code in that city. It'd be like WA Reds signing Ben Cousins, pointless on the field but gets pr off it. pr, now there's a concept the NRL needs to learn!
ps Dally is that the best you can come up with for NRL players filling Int RU teams? 2 RU players that had a go at League then went back to RU after a year or two  |
