| Quote: cravenpark1 "that's strange I had the full pack and when I changed it it went down to £18 for the action and arena channels and today I got a email to confirm it'"
I thought it was £18 for one channel, then an extra £4 for a second channel.
So to get SS Action and SS Arena, it would be £22?
Tbh even if it's £22 a month, I still don't see how people can gripe at it being too expensive considering you'll get at least 8 games of rugby for that each month.

If you subscribe to Movies and Box sets and also want sports before they changed it, you ended up with all sports for £18. Now you only get 1 package for that. Great way for Sky to make extra money.

I think this bit hits the nail on the head as sky don't do anything to make it cheaper for people, it's in their eyes another way to sneak in a price hike without it seeming as such, after all how many times can they send that letter saying due to an increase in programmes and UK call centres blah blah blah !!!
Did anyone receive any info from sky about these changes as I didn't all I see is a change of channel names and for me a loss of my series links, and yesterday a loss of the hour before the match as I'd hit record on the main event channel. ?

My dad didn't receive any notification from Sky regarding the changes. Luckily I knew the channels were changing and let him know but I didn't have any idea that existing customers would automatically start paying more. My dad was annoyed that first of all Sky did not inform him of the changes, and two, the put our bill up without asking if we wanted to keep the changes.
Sky are becoming a joke in terms of how they treat their customers. And the re-branding of the sports is stupid. No need for so many channels. Have one Rugby, Football, Cricket and then a regular Sky Sports for everything else if changes are needed.
Why have Main Event, Premier League, Football, Cricket, The Open, F1, Action, Arena and News. Bloody hell. Football having TWO channels is stupid. There are no games at the moment? It's just rehashed programmes like PL 100 etc. Not getting your money's worth.

| I gave up Sky completely a few years ago because their call centre operator so annoyed me. I had to contact them to cancel my father,s contract because he had died. I was informed by the phone monkey that because it was his contract my father had to cancel the subscription. After I explained that unless they had a medium working for them that would be difficult and that the direct debit had been cancelled, I suggested that they might like to contact him to sort out the problem. In the mean time I took the opportunity to get rid of my own subscription. I cannot say that I have really missed it.

| Have not been able to check all the channels and individual prices but they all seem roughly the same to me football channels are priced the same as as Rugby andcricket etc. Yet sky pay billions for football.
It seems viewers are still paying a lot for sports channels to watch sports that get little or no funding from sky.
I will not pay £22 a month for Rl when sky pay it 25 million a season when they charge a football fan £22 pcm to watch football teams sky pay 100 million per team per season.
Sky are robbers and let Cody be the Robin Hood.
I would pay £22 for sky if they did not treat RL so badly.
More money per season, proper presenters and decent midweek programmes
Then I will sign up to watch sky

It might cost the same per viewer, but a lot more people subscribe/watch football than RL.
£22 x 3,000,000 = £66,000,000
£22 x 50,000 = £1,100,000

No you are right, I confirmed it with a mate last night who works for Sky.
Despite Action and Arena being two separate channels, they are considered as one channel for the pricing structureso they only cost £18.
What I also found out though, is that you can't get the sports channels in HD unless you have the box set bundle, which is about £15 extra every month on top of the basic Sky package. It's little things like this that irritate me about Sky. There's no need to tie people down with additional costs like that, especially for something like HD which should pretty much be default on all channels now.

| I can't believe anyone actually pays full pops for sky. I've never paid more than 1/2 their published prices and have even had it for 75% off in the past. I currently pay £35 pm for sport in HD, movies and box sets plus they gave me a q box for £20. People need to learn to negotiate

| Why not just make every live event on sky sports, pay per view? Similar to the way now tv works?
