I heard a vicious rumour that the players would play by the rules.

On further investigation it was found only to be a rumour and so everything will continue as " normal".

Sin binning will become the cop out soon though.

I wouldn't call it a cop out, especially compared to on report which was essentially meaningless.

It's good of Shaun Wane to point out this hideous curse of players "appealing to referees" which is blighting our game.

I look forward to him keeping schtum on the subject of referees for the rest of the season, lest he unduly influence their performance to his side's benefit.

I remember many years back at Odsal Rob Burrow being warned by the ref for constant appealing. Every time Burrow was at acting halfback he was doing the Angry Birds arms-in-supplication thing, next PTB he did it again and got sin-binned

Ref did well tonight for me. Other than maybe making Hock walk the first time he used the knee.

Child is awful and he is ruining this game. Lost control completely and the game is terrible to watch due to the constant stoppages/penalties/fights.

I think Child couldve dealt with earlier issues better so it didn't lead to this, but the ultimate responsibility lies with players who can't control themselves.

How Cas have only one in the bin is beyond me. Knees to the head, a professional foul and a penalty count in double figures.

Listening to 5 minutes of analysis to every 2 minutes of 'commentary' is god awful, just shut up and call the effing game..

Childs is a very poor ref and has no place in super league. He generally ruins most matches he refs. Sendin ah van off last week for high shot this week penalty sufficient for hight shot from carney and a dirty facial (sounds rude!) from Webster

I bet he (nor indeed the disciplinary) cannot even see why that was worse than Ah Van's

Sorry but by your criteria all the players and teams are very poor and don't deserve to be in SL either.
They bend the rules ( when they understand them), take cheap shots if they think they can get away with it, can't tackle in a way that doesn't cause a penalty every time, and that is all down to match officials?

If the players played to the rules then there would be no penalties, but the players, and fans, want the team to take all the advantages but none of the consequences.

Today's game would have been as bad no matter who was in charge. It's the players who create the problems, always has been and always will be.

To be fair, the two games with most over-boiling incidents and behaviour are the ones with Child as ref. Granted today wasn't easy to ref but his words towards Carney at the end summed him up....

"I've spoken to you 3 times already about your conduct, once more and I MIGHT take action"

MIGHT??? Whilst in commentary they said this leaves him room to manoeuvre if the next offence isn't too bad, it also leaves the player thinking he could get away with another foul.
