PMSL
With just a week until I turn 40. A lifetime of watching RL at all levels, played in one of the best amateur Yorkshire teams and at one point was involved in coaching until work commitments put an end to that, i'd say I have a better understand of the game than most on here. I'll just put this out there that you're one of those influenced by the media so think Sinfield is worthy of the Golden Boot but also like Jedward and Rylan icon_lol.gif

I bet you're looking forward to this season. Sky are dedicating an extra 15 minutes to each broadcast so Stevo can refer to him as 'Mr consistent Sir Kevin golden boot winning champion of champions captain fantastic Sinfield MBE OBE CBE GC VC'

We constantly denegrate our sport and yet, when something good happens, we still moan. Why can we not appreciate and be proud of what Kevin Sinfield has achieved? For only the fourth time in history, we have an English winner of the Golden Boot. Maybe he doesn't have the individual skills of the other candidates, but he is a fantastic leader and a very fine rugby league footballer. I say congratulations Kevin.

We follow the best sport in the world but when a player like Sinfield wins the golden boot it makes a mockery of our great game. At least half of the NRL deserve that accolade before Sinfield.

Hey don't joke about things like that. Stevo's probably asked SKY if it's possible icon_wink.gif

Odd. I have very similar qualifications, except I'm still involved in coaching (and did some rep level in the past, and have a few players in the pros via me) but have almost exactly the opposite opinion to you on Sinfield. One of us must be wrong.

So 50% of the NRL player base have had a better year, individually, than Kevin Sinfield in 2012?

After watching Leeds on SKY and Watching NRL on Premier Sports i'd say yes. Sinfield would be too slow for the NRL and is vastly averrated.

Presumably vastly overrated by Darryl Powell, Tony Smith, Brian McClennan, Brian McDermott, David Waite, Brian Noble and Steve Macnamara?

They probably see each other on a regular basis so they aren't going to bag him are they. Funny how we never heard how good Sinfield was when Leeds were having their usual mid season dip.

Darren Lockyer doesn't think so.

Can you imagine the media asking Lockers if Sinfield could hack it in the NRL and he laugh his rocks off? No cos our RL public have been brainwashed by the media into thinking he's the best thing since sliced bread and for Lockers to dis that would make him public enemy number 1. Lockers is too nice to say anything bad about SL. You really need to think for yourself instead of believing everything you're told in the media. Sorry to dash your hopes but it was a hoax that a London bus was found at the north pole some years ago.

I do think for myself and I think that Kevin Sinfield is a very fine rugby league footballer. But of course I'm the only one ..........
