Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

yeah, erm, hilarious. Ha ha ha people from PNG eat people arent they backwards ha ha ha'"
You know as much about the state of preparation that the Celtic Crusaders had compared to the clubs mentioned as you do about the suitability of a PNG teams entry into the NRL
The difference is I admit I know nothing about PNG s situation to put forward a reasoned argument , you however think you know it all , when in fact you know F all
But carry on , you are amusing , your nearly as funny as a joke about cannibalism

| Quote: gutterfax "I have no issue with the people of PNG, who I am sure 99.999% of are top quality folk, who like the rest of the Pacific nations are really friendly.
Fact remains, the infastructure isn't there, the transport links aren't there, the crime rate is terrible, the level of poverty is horrendous and the lack of education and access to medical care make it a 3rd world country.
What PNG and its Government needs is to do is meet the targets set by the organisations giving it aid to help with these issues...what they don't need is an NRL team.'"
I dont disagree that the infrastructure and transport links arent there for PNG to use an NRL team how we use an NRL team, but they wouldnt use it as Australia/NZ would, or France or Wales or England use their SL sides. PNG want to use their NRL team as a development tool, to help them improve education and to help them send public help messages. The NRL side would act as a focal point, a rallying point for what is probably the most diverse and fractured nation in the world. It is part of them meeting these challenges.
The crime rate, as we have shown is lower than Brazil and SA, countries capable of the practicalities, and comparable to Russia, a nation nobody would pretend was too dangerous to visit.

Call me old fashioned but I'll take a 15K+ crowd and flooded field over a drained field and 6K fans. Don't worry Dally it will only happen once every 10years+ so you can tune into the Swans on that night!
Have they decided who is actually running the game in PNG yet?

It may not be the best but it has a capacity better then half of the Super League Clubs and looks more modern than Odsal or the Jungle or many English grounds including Saints current ground.
Saints new ground will have a capacity of 18k? thats ambitious for one of the leading Clubs in Super League, is it they can not afford to build a Stadium with more capacity or they don't think they need too?
What part of Australia do you live Dally?

Loathe as I normally am to defend Saints, they get great crowds (and possibly the best walk-up crowd, as this season might well be proving) and have been getting them at up to 18k for years. What's the point of building a 25k stadium in RL over here? Very little. Especially as the North West is turning into a sporting monoculture where going to (association) football has slipped behind watching football on a dodgy foreign satellite as the most popular spectator sport.

If you are getting 18k crowds for years why would you build an 18k Stadium?
Makes no sense
The figures on St Helens Crowds do not support an 18k crowds often to be honest.

Well, you need capacity sometimes. Saints can sometimes fill 18k. They know they can't fill 25k. So why should they build bigger and have to maintain a bigger stadium? Look at poor old Darlo.
Similar to why Elland Road isn't a 70k capacity stadium.
