No I am 100% behind encouraging other clubs to grow and become competitive naturally and not have to rely on the pity and hand ups offered by having a salary cap ceiling.

you are bringing the level of the competition down not the bottom up, you are taking from the top to give to the bottom so they meet in the middle,

this brings down the quality of the competition, what we should be doing is letting the top improve unrestricted and give the bottom the tools to grow to the level of the top,

and if they cant, then their place isnt SL level

shame the cap wasnt around when they almost went broke in the 90s trying to match wigans spending and had to sell headingly to caddick who then put union on their turf.

considering it was the best thing to ever happen to Leeds it really isnt,

Rugby League in England has been dominated by 3-4 teams for 3 decades.
Wigan
St Helens
Bradford
Leeds

There have been a couple of hiccups but in the main these teams have won everything.
If you were a fan one of the teams that have won nothing in a lifetime and seen every player of any talent your Club develops leave to win something at one of these four Clubs why would you keep following the game?

If having a handful of teams win everything available and sign the bulk of the best available NRL talent and play a dozen really tough games (at the most) each year makes a good competition that will grow the I must be Blind Freddie.

Super league is one of the most one Horsed races (3 Horses most years) in World Sport.
When Leeds with the advantages of population and wealth have no reasonable interested competition to beat then perhaps they will have arrived.

I've not argued for the removal of the salary cap, merely the ceiling figure, the percentage of turnover rule should remain to stop clubs overspending on players to the extent they jeapordise their existence.

So what do you suggest?

RL in England was dominated by one of those clubs for a very long time, until the advent of Super League enabled the other clubs that you mention to join the party.

So in fact, the top flight of RL in England has seen increased competition in the last 12 years.
