| Quote: Bull Mania "All the talk about grade E offences is a bit OTT IMO.
Briers should get a 1 game ban and then we can move on. Unfortunately he can use his EGP (I've never agreed with this rule) and won't get banned. This is why the disciplinary is unfit for purpose.
Child's couldn't send Briers to the sin bin as I remember Cummings saying you couldn't send a player to the sin bin for foul play.
There's been far less given reds this year. It was a nasty cheap shot by briers when a players back is turned. The fact Abletts back was turned is why I think Briers was lucky not to walk.'"
The guidelines for punching don't cover what Briers did. if any do it's punching, repeated, aggressive or violent C-D or E which is sustained, repeated violent & aggressive.
It wasn't reaction to an opponent, Ablett didn't provoke him.
It wasn't self defence.
It wasn't one on one because Ablett had his back turned & wasn't throwing any punches
It's covered by intentional striking with hand arm or shoulder & that carries a D-E grading.
If he doesn't miss at least 1 game the disciplinary will be in disrepute.

Still, inconvenient facts never did influence those so keen to label Bailey a coward. You wonder what it is that marks Bailey out from other well-known poophouses down the years who didn't get half as much stick - the likes of Paul Davidson, James Graham, Paul Sculthorpe, Danny Williams (ex London and Melbourne, not the Salford one) for example?'"
If people actually watched bailey when there's no fuss going on they'd see some of the quality things he actually does. his reputation goes before him, as it would have if he'd done a Briers.

| Life imprisonment and a sine die ban for Briers with no hope of parole. Worst act of thuggery ever on an innocent butter-wouldn't-melt Rhinos player.
Fact. End of.
Etc.
WHINOOOOOOOOS!

Let me get this right, James Graham is stood 20 yards to Bailey's right. Bailey receives the ball, he could run blind or he could run straight. But no, he runs right towards where Graham is.
In your mind this shows him running away from James Graham?

| One of Baileys finest acts on the field came at the end of a challenge cup final annihilation at the hands of Warrington when he tried to put 'ickle Chris Riley in hospital with 10 seconds to go...class act. Think it was 2011.

Read my post it's the reason I stated "in RL terms" the reason I wrote that was to negate your obvious reply, I played RL myself, knee injurys, a busted shoulder, broken jaw and broken finger putting aside the numerous concussions I've had(an obvious come back for you there). I also played 2nd row.
Now my talent is limited but I'd gladly put my boots on and play against him, I don't doubt he has talent, if he didn't he wouldn't be in a champion team but he does avoid the big boys when the going gets tough, proven many a times.

| Bailey did it again on Saturday, was going to start having a pop then realised it was Gaz Carvell.
Put it this way he 'picks his fights'.

Indeed, and even if you didn't play it doesn't remove your right to have an opinion on Bailey. Physical bravery/cowardice is relative to size, physique, training, skill, etc. I don't know if 'coward' is quite the right word for Audley Harrison, say, but just because he'd knock me out in the first 5 seconds doesn't mean I can't criticize his 'cowardly' looking style. Same goes for Bailey - way too many cheap shots on players smaller than himself for me, and an inability to beat the man in a fight doesn't mean you're not allowed to comment on it.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good sob story....
Wardle got banned for SUSTAINED punches to Ablett, not in retaliation.
Bailey got a 1 match ban 'the other week' for punching in retaliation to Blanch's slap.
Briers should therefore get a ban for a punch no in retaliation to the back of someones head.

Paul Sculthorpe. Check youtube.
To be fair when that crop of youngsters came through at Leeds, I seem to remember him doing over Julian O'Neill of Wakefield. If you can't remember him, he was the least aggressive prop forward ever - also played for Saints and Widnes.
