606,000 Aussies tuned in to watch the game on TV........that's less than the number of Aussies that tuned in to the RWC2011 Final and that didn't even feature Australia.'"
How did the bledisloe cup rate this year?lol
www.afr.com/p/lifestyle/sport/ev ... kMDFgEzQGL
SOO 4million+ viewers, $50mill plus a year media value + $20mill ticket sales + cities paying $2.5mill to host it + massive merch sales
Why is england rugby union so e in comparison? they should pack up now and merge with the RFL lol.

| Bledisloe game 1 623k
4nations final 606k
And they say international Union is their strength, wallabies rated lower this year than kangaroos v samoa!
And RU has failed to generate any interest from fta tv yet again lol. A whooping $5mill a year increase to $40mill a year for S15, only $170mill a year behind the NRL! Union slips further into insignificance in Australia.

England RU generats more ticket sales, more TV viewers abd generally more of everything than SOO......not sure what point it is you're actually failing to make?
the pseudo french poster claims that this 4 nations is the best competition yet in either code.....he was on the wind up and I have said I should have known better, but all the same, he is wrong.....it wasn't even better than RLWC 2013.

Classic Gomper.
The pseudo French poster was clearly talking about the games themselves, not the viewing figures and attendances. And he was right, for once.

| Oh great another thread getting derailed by Gutterfax bigging up RU numbers, it's been a while. In a page or two he'll inevitably cry innocence that it wasn't he who started it.
FWIW, if we are including all aspects as to what was the best rugby tournament ever then every RU tournament ever held fails to win that title due to massive failings in the on-field action category.

It's also a bit bizarre considering not long ago he posted saying how great the 4 nations attendances were. Even though he got his numbers wrong and then whined like a tart.

I didn't bring Union to the table. The pseudo Frenchman did.
Opinions are like @rseholes buddy and unfortunately for you and your other neo-facist defenders of the RFL faith, the opinion of the majority is that they'd rather turn up and tune in in larger numbers for the Union than the League.
Both games are poles apart in so many on-field aspects that the constant comparison by the more insecure of you on here is puzzling. Every quantifiable area of comparison, money, audience, spectators, media inches, public opinion...everything points to the game you despise being bigger and more popular.
I know this hurts your brain and has you reaching for your bumper book of b'stard things done to league by union....you even have a copy of it in French I am sure, but it is the reality of the games.
Given I was actually at this tournament, experiencing games across NZ, I am pretty well placed to say that it was a fantastic comp, but the reality is that Samoa v NZ was a game for the purists, England v Australia was littered with errors across the park and the officiating and choosing of referees was farcial. No matter that SJ skinned Inglis for a cracking individual score in the final, no matter that the Beast is now the #1 Kiwi try scorer of all time.....this tournament on and off the park has had it's bad things too.....and therefore, on and off the park, it is not the best tournament even in RL.......that was the 2013 RLWC.
Now...toddle off and thumb through your almanac of BBC media conspiracies against Rugby League 2014......

That's quite an impressive hissy fit you've thrown there. Unfortunately I'm not one of those who blame the X, Y, Z you mentioned for RL shortcomings and I have nothing particularly against RU except that I find it boring.
Merely pointing out that you took something and twisted it just so you could have your tedious repetitive RU is so much better monthly troll attempt......(oh sorry, forgot you NEVER start it ). For all the whinging you do about RL fans being sensitive about RU comparisons you don't half bitch like a little girl at every slight hint of RU comparision of the VT.

...think you'll find that I recommend you insecure lads step away from comparisons, because they never stack up well. I could understand it if I started the comparing, but I don't.
By the way. To clarify a point that you seem misguided on, I do not think Union is better than League and you'll be hard pressed to find a post where I have said it. What I have said is that Union is a better run game and one we in league could learn from.

That is quite funny coming from somebody who upon reading the slightest usage of the term "both codes" (in clear reference to the on-field product only) ran off to collect some attendance and audience stats.
I didn't run anywhere...your insecure brethren happily compile them and post them on other sites...eagerly awaiting Tweets from England RL on early morning BBC figures
