| So the Rovers trolls are in force I see.
Funny that they're saying we should be worried about these friendly results, but the fact that we beat them in one is of no concern as it was only a friendly.
If you're going to troll, at least be consistent. The friendlies either matter or they don't. If they do, then you should be more worried. If they don't, then find something else to troll about. Can't have it both ways.
We really need a better class of troll. What happened to the witty ones that weren't as thick as two short planks?

No they looked good in a meaningless friendly. This no more represents how good they are or how poor you are.
Featherstone are thrashing SL teams by the minute, are you suggesting they are better than those teams in reality?

| normally i dont read into friendly scores, but the attitude of some of the fc first teamers at fev yesterday in the first half stank!
over half of that starting 13 didnt want to be there and didnt have the stomach to man up against a very good, well disciplined fev side that will go well in the championship!

| A poor performance several weeks before season starts with a pick n mix line up is just a blow out and results shouldn't be a concern.
But 2 weeks before season starts and a performance worse than the friendly before is a concern.
A few years ago Hull went after the best coach they could get now they give the job to Radford with the brief to bring the kids through hmmm.

It's not really difficult to understand
If you get lanced by a team from the division below when playing a good percentage of your first team squad then you have to be worried about attitude and the likes.
The week previously you beat us, for 40 minutes it was a decent contest, but the young Rovers lads who took the field for the second 40 minutes played with abit of passion and pride to keep the score to what it was.
Bradford and featherstone have both put the cleaners through you in the opening 40 minutes of games and then fev managed to win 30-0 going up the hill in the second half.
You've got to be worried that the attitude of your players appears to be well off where it should be surely?
Yesterday players the ilk of Yeaman, Horne, lineham, Crooks et al where playing in a game for a fantastic servant of your club and he's had to come out and publically apologise for the shame of the result.
Radford said he'd root out the problems well bows his chance

your strongest line up couldnt break down 'our kids' for nearly 20 minutes in the first half after we had scored! it took a sin binning for you to get over! not much to crow about is it?
maybe these friendlies will show radford the problems that certain players have at fc, at least we go into our opening game knowing we have to improve and sort them out

I hope some of the lower SL teams keep on simply assuming they must somehow be in a different class to the elite Championship teams. I think there's a bit of delusion going on that there's a massive gap, and I'm not sure that's true, maybe it was a while ago but not these days. Most neutrals who attended the Wakefield & Hull games v Fev, for instance, were talking about the SL teams being comprehensively outplayed throughout. It's hard to say what a difference having a complete 1-17 of SL starters, and a meaningful game, would make, but in my opinion the gap between lower SL and upper Championship has been narrowing for some time.

They are Super League players that's how it should be isn't it, abit of pride in your tryline which obviously wasn't on show yesterday.
Not to mention Rovers should of had another 3 possibly 4 scores if not for some shocking handling with the line at their mercy. They even tried to mess the Hodgson try up with a poor final pass.

I don't feel it's the gap between the bottom of SL and the championship, (as much as it pains me to say) it's the gap between the lower end of SL and fev that's narrowing.

It's a good thing they don't count we've lost both games but thankfully we've competed and come through relatively unscathed in both which is what pre-season is all about.
I would of expected Radford to field as close to his starting 17 for the game against the frogs yesterday even if it was only for half an hour.
Can't understand playing the fixture otherwise

You might be right, but us Fev fans are in no position to be complacent about our Championship rivals; although we've topped the league 4 years in a row, Sheffield, not us, are officially champions for the second year running, as much as that might irk us. Fev do seem to have taken another step forward this pre-season, but we need to keep winning the bread-and-butter games in our division.
As for the other top Championship teams, I suspect coaching will play its part again. Leigh look to have recruited very well, are talking the talk, and should be improved this season if they can put it all together, but Sheffield and Batley, neither of whom have really made a big splash in terms of new recruits, are still coached by guys with a terrific track record at this level and neither are ever pushovers. The difference is neither of those two clubs might have the scope to develop into a genuine SL outfit, but we'll see.

I think castleford will show the importance of a good coach this season. Darly powell is very underrated for some reason in my opinion. Im friends with a couple of cas fans out here and i said last season you will better with out rangi chase and with powell as your coach, i look forward to seeing if i am right.
