Apparently so, but hopefully the legal minds at the Super League and the RFL have put done their work years ago to stop people infringing against the hard work that the Super League did years ago. We should take it as a compliment that competitions have used the words Super League in their title to grow their sport. Unfortunately we will become a smaller and smaller part of the pie if the European Super League comes about, because fans do not call it the UEFA Champions League, they call it the Champions League, and association football fans will call their planned comp the Super League, and we will be a very, very, very poor relation if there is still a rugby league Super League competition in a few years time. |

Much rather have Elite Rugby League (ERL). The sport”s name should be in the title, IMO.

Athletics also has Super League. It's now so over-used by so many different sports around the world it isn't a helpful title for our top flight anymore.
