| Are they counting people who can see off those balconies in the apartments? And people sat in their cars at the supermarket?
It’s like me saying there are 8217 lines on the pitch... oh hang on...

| Quote Fully="Fully"The capacity of 9,600 is only for the seating areas, I believe.
It doesn’t include those in the beer tent area behind the posts.

Ahhhh, now that puts a different light on it. I thought a ground capacity was the whole ground. If thats true then the figure could well be about right then

Everywhere describes it as a “9,600 seating capacity stadium”, presumably with the assumption that everyone going to watch sport there would sit in the two stands down either side.
Given you can’t sit down behind the posts, I’d assume these are excluded from the capacity and so don’t count. It would be like counting the back of the main stand at The Jungle in the capacity.

| ^^ Whatever the ‘true’ numbers are though Fully, it looked a decent crowd. If they get promotion I must admit i’m quite looking forward to going next season - it looks so different to our set ups over here so would be a good experience I reckon.

| There are 12 sections at the Lamport, plus 4 small ones at each end, each with 20 rows of seats, so 8217 would need around 32 spectators on each and every row of each section of the ground (capacity is approx 37 on each). Even allowing for some folk standing behind the posts and in the beer garden, it didn't look anywhere close to that...
TWP do have great crowds at the moment, but shouldn't need to hype them up as it reduces their credibility. If they fail to gain promotion this time round (I can't see any restructure for 2019, if there is one then it'll be for 2020 or 2021), and then perhaps start losing a few more games it would be interesting to see if the Toronto public maintain interest.

| Quote HXSparky="HXSparky"How can it be setting a benchmark when it doesn't reflect the true numbers? Granted TWP may well have "sold" that many tickets, but there were far less than that actually in the ground. I'm not sure what our own attendances has to do with this? I've always said that TWP are getting excellent crowds but that the numbers in the ground are clearly far less than the declared figures. Whether this is down to a lot of season ticket holders not turning up, or something else, I'm not sure.
As it happens, I'm really enjoying our part-time present (assuming Rochdale don't spoil the party later today).'"
There's a piece about 'fax in today's Observer. Implies that the club sees the reserve side as having greater importance than going full time (not criticising this stance btw, I just mention it in case you haven't read it).
As for TW, they were flogging tickets for the Fev game half price which will have boosted the crowd, I'd have thought.

Whichever way you look at it, it's still an excellent attendance. Whether there are numbers in the beer tent or 20% overstated, it matters not, it's still a great effort.
Wonder what they all made of the result

| JC on a bicycle, would you just knock it off with the constant carping about the size of the crowds at Lamport. They outstrip most of the other Championship match attendances by hundreds and thousands and you're still picking nits about the exact count.
Stadium holds 9600 in the seats. There are 500-700 in the beer garden during the game (as one who queued for beer yesterday, I can vouch for personally counting every one of them) and another 100 or so at the south end in the VIP tents and standing.
Find something else to moan about.
As for the result - well we knew it had to happen after the run of wins and all things considered, Fev played a heck of a game and deserved the win in my opinion. We rested some key players, Fev was down some key players, but their speed and defence totally got the better of the Wolfpack. All credit to them. A good lesson for TWPto absorb before the playoffs.
Great turnout of away fans, always a delight to see how many people make the trip. and as always they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. Even as a TWP fan, it was a treat to see how the team and the fans reacted to the win at the end of the game, obviously made the trip worthwhile all round.
The Featherstone team showed up at the local 3 Brewers pub after the game and got a huge round of applause from Wolfpack fans. We're appreciative like that.

The other misinformation about the Lamport crowd photos is that the west side of the stadium is always fuller than the east side. This has to do with the angle of the sun on hot summer days ... on the west side, the sun is at your back. On the east side, the sun is in your face. The tv camera is on the west side and therefore is showing you the east stadium.
Take it from me, as a TWP fan who has attended every home game except one, that the west side is always fuller than the east side, every game, so basing your counts on east stand photos will always lead you to underestimate. Pro-tip ... east side sections are odd numbered, west side sections are even numbered.

| Quote RLRealist="RLRealist"A great crowd Toronto Wolfpack. Smashes every other Championship and L1, plus several SL clubs.

Toronto is quite a large city, with a population of only 3 million.
