Looks like all the teams backing up from the cup games last week struggled. wire, leeds and wigan all lost games they'd expect to win, saints eased past hull kr and Hull FC thankfully had the game against salford won at half time so didn't need to worry when their energy levels dropped

Leeds played a championship side who had 12 men for 70 minutes. Plus what about Huddersfield who also played in the cup ? Wigan were barely favourites against wakey + anyone with a brain would probably have backed Wakefield.

That result shows Cas has some great strength in depth. It's a bee now a reasonably good week for Yorkshire.

Can't spake for the others but Leeds's race is run for this year and has been for a while. We'll still turn in the odd good result, same as most teams do, but unlike many seasons these won't be in the games that matter. A meaningless (for us) win next week against saints would tick the box.

Not sure that anything can be read into last night's wire - cas game - it was simply too far removed from a high-intensity, low-error fixture to draw any conclusions as to who has the better prospect of silverware.
