Country no doubt

Country. I hope to see us win against Australia n a major final before I die. I’m 47.

I'm 22 (born 1995). I grew up with success at Bradford, World Champions 3 times to now being in League 1. For selfish reasons I want to see my club move forward and become an SL team once again.

I was also lucky enough to watch GB beat the Aussies in 2006. I can't say I remember victories from 1995-2005. So the 2006 is etched into my memory and I loved it. I want nothing more than to beat the Aussies, just once. But I'd prefer an England/GB win a 3 Test series against them.

Its Country for me because unlike with club rugby,the players are part of it, they belong. I'm a Warrington fan and whilst I enjoy any success we have, that enjoyment would be so much greater if they were all local lads.

I do support my country, but won't be bouncing around my living room dancing if they win the World Cup.
I enjoy it more than I did when we had the GB side containing only Saints/Leeds players.

Country all day long. Club glory is great but nothing would top seeing us win a WC or a series against the Aussies.both of which we have never done in my life time.

When did we last beat the Australians in a series or world cup knockout stage match? Was it the final in 1972? Quite incredible really.

Just out of interest, would you both feel the same way if the club you support had won jack all in the time you've been watching them?

Well Leeds only really started winning anything 15 years ago, won jack all in my life time up until that point and feelings have always been international glory over club. Nothing i would have liked more than seeing us take out a series or WC during the period 90-95 when we were very close.

Yes. I support the game first, the country second and Saints third. I felt that way before 1996 too, up until which time Saints' main role seemed to be to lose to Wigan in finals.

Country by a hair, especially if we beat Australia in the final, it would be country by a distance if Sinfield were still captain, or if Leeds were not going into a potential transition period

Also, is it just me who feels less of a connection to the England team since we got an Aussie coach and put Heighington in the team?
