Gambling is one of the industries that Theresa May has been reported as wishing to rein in. I think there is an inquiry into aspects, including TV advertising. A large chunk of premier league football clubs, I believe, are sponsored gambling industry. I guess the sponsor is getting in just in case new deals are banned?

Love to know what's in it for Fred Done, as he certainly has no interest in Rugby League. As a Salfordian he was asked to come on board and help us out in our hour of need before MK arrived, but he wasn't interested, his only interest is "nited"

I don't know if he's bothered about RL or not but taking on a club in the position Salford were in is an entirely different prospect to sponsoring a competition and is a massive undertaking both financially and reputationally. |

A different prospect agreed, my point was he has no interest in Rugby League so there must be something in it for him and his organisation. He is "nited" through and through, He even got a consortium together to try and buy them before the Glazers came in. |

A very shrewd guy and likeable. If you recall he paid out early on United winning the league, which they subsequently didn't and the story was that on the strength of that publicity he managed to open three new betting shops in the North East |

Just shows how far we've fallen back, in 2001 Carlsberg-tetly paid SLE £3m for the naming rights over a three year period.
The RFL are a fooking disgrace and yet still pay themselves more than their own auditors recommended salary increases.
And some are congratulating them for a job well done, sickening.
