If you truly believe that the reason he got a one match ban is because he plays for Wigan and is the England captain I suggest you find another sport as there is no point watching one that you believe is corrupt.'"

An independent panel made up of a judge and two ex team mates...did they car share there and back? Stinks to high heaven...awful tackle, awful decision..showed no remorse whatsoever...complained at the time that he'd done nothing wrong then walked straight off without a care in the world for the player he'd left in a heap on the floor...a complete farce!

I expect they are handing out free tinfoil hats with this topic, but finally a sensible post.
It's also not the first time a grade C offence has resulted in a ban below the recommended 2 match minimum. Ryan Atkins got a 1 match ban for a grade C offence this year. The RFL have confirmed the mitigating factors; his guilty plea (makes a slight difference), he was sent off in the first half (the guidelines state this is taken into consideration) and hasn't been charged for a single offence in 15 years meaning his record before this was basically as good as it gets.
It's not hard to see why it only resulted in a 1 match ban, the issue is that even with the mitigating factors it should have resulted in a longer ban because the recommended punishment should be higher. |

Minimum 1 match ban is about right considering he got a red card.
I am surprised though that he didn't get off Scot free!!! Perhaps the Wigan club will appeal and be given an extra 2 competition points to compensate Sean for the stress this incident has caused him and his club
