I get the spelling thing to a degree but typos of names is often attributed to other things. Failures in basic grammer are far more frustrating, there/their, of/off, throwing in apostrophe's when not required etc. is more annoying.


Commentators pronouncing names incorrectly is another bugbear.The Hull FC commentator is shocking at it, a recent one was Man Friday when we played Wigan a few weeks back...grrrr.

I hope that was intentional...

I hate it when people don't identify people by their full first name, and affect a close even intimate familiarity with the person that is totally unjustified.

Also nobody with or without a glass eye on Sky seems able to pronounce McGillvary (i.e. =#0000FFMac-GIL-varee). Instead they pronounce it "=#0000FFMac-Gil-VRAY". Shocking!

Thought the winky was the giveaway to what I'd said, but yah know it's rl fans so certain subtleties pass people by like the snouted one above highlighting my spelling of grammer (sic) in a thread about spelling, still, there's always next year.

The same way Edward Hemmings continually refers to Hull KRs Italian international winger as Joshua MONTELLATO

I don't like it either. Most folk aren't too impressed when people misspell or pronounce their own names, so why not offer the same basic courtesy to others, and readers? If you don't know how to spell a name, it only takes a couple of seconds to open another tab, and paste it into Google. Of course, if that's too much trouble...

Sometimes, incredibly, it's the name of their own player, or even coach! What sort of a fan are you, if you don't even know the coach's name?

Someone needs to let E Hemmings know that squoze is not the past participle of the verb to squeeze.

The Sky clowns also mispronounce his name.It should be pronounced Manfreddie.
