"The Golden Generation finally has its Golden Fleece! They have Wembley Cup Final winners medals to add to their collection."

Cas deserved winners no doubt. If I were a Wigan fan though I'd be tearing my hair out about that sloppy laying-on penalty that Jack Hughes gave away at 4-6. Cas had to endure a tough 10-15 prior to that and he let them off big time.
Thought at 4-6 Wigan would snatch it and that Cas whilst impressive in so many departments had too many disappointing kicks that allowed Wigan to start sets higher up the pitch than they should've done and that would be their undoing. For Wigan, they looked uncharacteristically unorganised and lacking structure in attack near the Cas line......that BTW is not to say that Cas weren't great in defence, just Wigan can look at the tape on Monday and be disappointed in some of the things they did/didn't do with ball in hand.
Thought the main reason why Wigan would win pre-game (apart from obvious home field advantage) is something I questioned when Leeds played Cas a few weeks back.....their defence. They've put up some good showings against the top teams this year but conceded too many points in those games (even when they beat Wigan at home they shipped 30 themselves). But today they blew that out of the water, probably even the most hardcore of Cas didn't think they'd only concede 4 points today.

Except he didn't. What he said was "they lied on better in the contact" and "they controlled the ruck speed very very well which they always do and the officials allowed them to do that". He was actually paying you a compliment on controlling the contact, the tackle and the ruck better than Wigan did and doing it in such a way the officials were happy with it.
He also said, "they completed their sets better, they ended their sets better, they had a bit more vigour ... they were the better team, we were beaten by the better team no doubt about that, they deserve to be in the semi finals and we don't."
He's right. Cas offered more and defended like Wigan did against Leeds a few weeks ago. Wigan ran out of ideas in attack and offered very little. Cas were superb and deserved it.
Got to say though, from the reaction you'd think Cas won the cup today. How many times do you see the entire squad and coaching staff posing for a picture under the sticks!

Erm, Cas do it most weeks. It's called showing family spirit with the fans and creating moments.
People really need to get over this and stop crying about it.
I mean, the Wigan account has tweeted a pic of the U19s stood on a balcony after beating London. Tsk, small club mentality....

Why shouldn't they be jubilant. They've just won a match that no one (except themselves) probably expected them to win. The best team won and rightly celebrated.

Didn't they do it at the magic weekend as well?

Wane threw in the obligatory ''cas deserved it they played well etc etc'' so he could never be accused of being anything but a gracious loser, but it was also obvious what wane was insinuating in between all that, very diplomatically.
