It was worse than the Mckinnon one. Lives up to the 'rugby players are thick' stereotype. Now we will see if they punish the tackle (in which case 7 games) or the injury (in this case none, therefore a lesser ban). Whatever he gets he cant complain

The Ferres tackle was shocking, but people saying it was intentional are absolutely daft. He clearly lifts Lomax, but Lomax propels himself forward (driving for more yards in the tackle). That momentum into the lift puts him in the dangerous position, which Ferres should have corrected.

Certainly not intentional, but deserves a hefty ban. I'd guess at 4 games.

Blind. He clearly lifted Lomax. Once above the horizontal, you can see him perform an almost pile-driver.

Did Ferres suddenly think he was the Undertaker? Almost a textbook piledriver that one. Terrible, possibly one of the worst spear tackles ever, luckily Lomax was not hurt.

I honestly don't want to believe he intended to drive lomax's head in the ground but it looked pretty bad. I think Lomax's momentum contributed as did his leg drive but it is Ferres' responsibility to ensure his tackle is safe. That clearly was not.

Given recent events in Australia Ferres will likely end up with a very long ban.

Fair thread. Bentham's call was almost impossible, and an honest error in my view. Ferres made a deliberate attempt to execute a throw which could have paralysed a fellow player. I hope he gets a record ban.

It's a shame that this is one of the worst incidents of this nature since the Alex McKinnon incident and he could possibly be made a scapegoat for the tackle where as previous players have got off scott free for similar incidents

I thought that the tackle on Hull FC 's Whiting against Widnes was even worse though and that tackle only was worthy of a warning?
