| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"Just watched the replay and it's not helped. It's the chances we have to kill it that's the heartbreaker. The Westwood chance were he's about an inch short of getting it down and the Hall juggle are the big two that stick out and even watching the replay I still hope that I see them finish then off but to no avail. They were both great efforts and as per usual we just seemed to lack that bit of luck.
The majority of the team yesterday didn't deserve that. To lose it like that has gutted me like no other defeat before. I've seen Wigan rugby do the double this year and was at the FA cup final to see Wigan Athletic shock the world but I'd trade it all for a win yesterday. I want nothing more then a major trophy fir the England rugby league team. I want us to have our moment in the sun and pinch a big game that that yesterday.
One day it'll happen, it has to happen. One thing is for sure I'll keep turning out for these games. I've seen too many defeats to not see the glory moment.'"
Well said, agree entirely. Especially the Hall moment, he did the exact same thing against Manly last year but managed to keep hold and went the length of the field, I think remembering that somehow makes it even worse.
Oh and I'd definitely trade Wigan's double for a win yesterday

Ditto - I was there on Saturday [iand[/i i've just finished watching it for the second time. Still expecting Hall to intercept or Sinfield to kick it dead right at the end. And yes, i'd trade our double for a World Cup win in a heartbeat...

| I can only relate to what people are saying on here when Cas have lost cup semis in extra time/the last minute. I was more bothered about missing out on my win after lumping on England 1-12

| There will be another chance for England in the Four Nations next year.
However it won't be the World Cup and it will be played in Australia and NZ.

| Glad I'm not the only one
It's the most horrible feeling after a sporting event I've ever had.
My dad just left the room. He had to leave half way through the game too because his heart was going. Mine was too most of the game.
And when that last try was scored my language would have been heard down the street. Started punching a table. It was just horrible.
Someone summed it up nicely.
If I had a cat I would have booted it out the stadium
I'm not even looking forward to club rugby now either.
Super league is not in a good state financially and the best players for the sake of England need to be in the NRL.
Bring on the 4 nations.
It was the best England performance I've ever seen and everyone will agree that the best team lost.
The lads did not deserve to lose that game.
That's me done on the subject
One final thought for the 4 nations
COME ON ENGLAND.

| Should hopefully see plenty of fans come over for 2017 RLWC. Would be great to have a travelling army behind England in 2017. I know I will be taking two weeks off to catch qtrs, semi and final.

| Had everyone in work (Liverpool) asking me about it today. Still finding it difficult to talk about, immensely proud but devastated.

| I just wanna say that before the game I said neither Sinfield or Tomkins had been 'outstanding' thus far in the tournament, but my god were they on Saturday. Gareth Widdop had one of the best games I can ever remember an England number 6 having and Sam Burgess was inspirational.
I have never been so anxious, exited and nervous as I was during the last 20 minutes of that game and it certainly was heart breaking stuff. Hearing 65,000 plus inside Wemberly chanting "ENGLAND, ENGLAND" was spine tingling and I was devasted for the fans, the players and the sport in general at the final score.
The amount of non-RL watchers/followers that have commented in work about the game has been unbelieveable. It seems as though international RL has finally arrived to the British public, the hard work starts here now in building upon this successful tournament.

| I still can't get over it. Will probably have to retrieve the programme that I immediately deleted and watch it again at some point. Absolutely gutted just sums it up for me.
From watching that game, I think Sam Burgess put in the best display I have ever seen from a forward in RL, with a few others not too far behind him (ie Graham/SBW etc). His interview straight after just shows why we like the honesty and integrity of our game.
Can only think the Aussies will win the final with the emotional drain the game will have on the Kiwis. Hope not though.

Precisely why we need a presence in London. Its where the money is if we want to attract sponsors etc. I was in London in the early 90s when international RL was on everyones lips. We had a great British side then made up of international stars. With the Burgess boys, Tomkins, etc we have a chance to shine now. We just need to grab the bull by the horns and seize the day.
Sadly i fear no legacy and we will trundle along again for another 8 years until we have a WC here again.
