He's missed half the season with a very nasty injury and has hardly turned the games around when he's been on the field.'"
Still think he'd do a better job than chase even though he's only played half a season at least he's consistent whereas I think chase drifts in n out. At least Mc Namara could give him a full 80 mins.

And Briscoe is still better than Charnley anyway, it was that leisurely jog back that cost Charnley I reckon. That's down to attitude/thought process, nothing else.

Two things that give Briscoe the edge over Charnley for me. First is tackle busts, Briscoe has one of the highest number of tackle busts in SL, when bringing the ball back Briscoe is more likely to make the break. Secondly, Briscoe is more likely to make something out of nothing. Charnley is a great finisher but how many tries does he make for himself? For me when you're playing on the right wing as Briscoe will be ( Hall rightly has the left wing spot tied up), its important to be able to make your own chances as teams generally play more down their left flanks.

| I'm pretty sure Charnley picked up a knock against Aus. I doubt he's been dropped, although Briscoe deserves to keep his place this week.

This is wrong really, yes Briscoe has more tackle busts than Charnley (86-75), but charnley has loads more clean breaks (35/19). So charnley is much more likely to make a break.
As you like to select certain stats to suit your point here a few more
You contradict your self, you say you need to create more yourself on the right as most teams go left yet charnley who plays on the right can't create a thing for himself but has 34 tries and Briscoe who plays on the left so has to create less for himself has 16.
Also unless i've watched a different team this year Charnley has score plenty from range.
Briscoe is good but Charnley is better.

| And when you take into account that Charnley was playing at Wigan & Briscoe at Hull (with our crappy attack & that donkey passer/greedy fecker Yeaman inside of him), Briscoe's stats are all the more impressive..
Running out the the 20 you can almost guarantee a penalty is gained when Briscoe takes it up because defences know his capability and he's hard to put down/stop making quick PTB.
Charnley just isn't better, he's very very good but Briscoe offers more

What you've done is re-emphasis my points. Clean breaks means nothing as a clean break is generally created by someone else, in a wingers case normally his centre partner. As all Hull fans know in the decade or so that Yeaman has played for Hull he has always had a reluctance to pass to his wingman.
It's not unusual for a right winger to see more of the action in defense as most teams attack the left flank more(most players are right handed), therefore it's more likely he'll do more tackling. Pat Richards is fantastic under the high ball and Sam Tomkins plays full back at Wigan therefore most teams will kick to Charnleys wing which goes someway to explaining his higher number of carries. Average carries and tackle success are the same. Briscoe has far more offloads which means he's more likely to make chances for others. As for tries, Briscoe played for Hull, an average SL team with terrible halves, Charnley plays for the SL champs who massively out scored Hull in the try department.
As I said in my original post, I think Briscoe offers more, this is my opinion which is why I used the term' For me'. I'm not wrong, I just have a different opinion to you.

| Charnley is a better player then Briscoe and there's no doubt in that IMO. There's some try's over the last couple of years that Charnley has scored (Hudds at home in the league this year and Wire away in the CC in 2011 are two that spring straight to my mind) that Briscoe just wouldn't be capable off but I actually agree that Briscoe deserves his place. IMO Charnley didn't hit the heights he's capable of against the Aussies and looked lethargic and he's paid the price. Tom Briscoe is a fine player in his own right and even though it was only Ireland, took his chance and player really well. It is only right that he should keep his place for this game and we find ourselves in a very healthy position.
Overall Charnley can do everything Briscoe can and plenty more but he's rightfully paid the price for a sloppy display.

| I think we have healthy comp on the wings with them 3 guys.
Charnley definitely paid the price for his display and rightly so.
Hopefully Tom Burgess being under par will keep him out too.
Mossop has a lot of making up to do to stay in the team.
Really think Sam should be used as a prop, but very much doubt he will

I agree, I'd like to see SOL play at 13 meaning we can have S. Burgess and Graham as starting props with Hill and G.Burgess on the bench.

I'd start Sam Burgess in the second row but only have the one prop on the bench alongside Westwood and Farrell and then Burgess can rotate and go in to prop when needs be.
I agree on Mossop as well. If he plays (and I wouldn't play him) he really needs to show some energy and aggression because it was way off against the Aussies. That's the problem with Mossop, when his head is right and he's playing with that intensity he's a superb player but when he goes below that level he gets lazy and is easily dealt with.
The aggressive Mossop is pure quality though as shown in the play offs.

| No I wouldn't play him either but by the 19 looks like he will.
If sol is fit. 13 is his.
How this guy was so underrated in recent years is beyond me.
Hill, graham, s and g burgess is an outstanding set of props. Any of them starting would be ok with me.
Ferres has pretty much nailed his spot
Westwood is great but not been smart. If Farrell plays his spot is very much up for grabs.
If burrow is on the bench and does what we all know he is capable of I would think widdops place is up for grabs too.
