Tetley's isn't 'brewed' anywhere.
What happens is - landlords & bar managers throughout the country send the remnants of their drip trays back to Tetley's in Northampton on a weekly basis.
These 'drips' are then poured into a big bucket, stirred once with a rusty spoon and then George the 'master brewer' takes a wee in the bucket. Another stir with the rusty spoon and the 'beer' is ready to go.
It's then poured into barrells labelled 'Tetley's' and distributed up North.

It's difficult for anyone to argue with this one I would've thought; the 4th largest brewer in the world is now attached to RL, via a brand that has its roots and heritage in the heartland of the sport.
I suppose there could be some argument about the regressive nature of an alcohol sponsor, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for other sports and it shouldn't be for us; for all their failings, this is a good achievement by the RFL and should be applauded.
For the record I think their beer is rank, but that's hardly relevant.

Reducing the alcohol content of Tetleys bitter also shows them as being responsible when it comes to alcohol.
They are a forward thinking company and it is good for RL
I would have much preferred the Jennings Sneck Lifter challenge cup though
