If Tomkins doesn't win it, I'll be embarrassed for the players in SL as a whole.

Tomkins doesn't have a god given right to win. He has been on of the better players though. For me Scott Dureau has been superb and would get my vote. Tomkins & Hock have also been great at Wigan. I also have been extremely impressed with Paul Aiton.

Surely it is, otherwise the MoS award could be given out on the eve of every season

Why would McGuire, Sinfield or Waterhouse be anywhere near winning MoS if we are looking at the season as a whole..? Atkins is questionable too...
