| 12 team SL and 5 team playoff, which has already been mentioned. 8 of 14 just makes no sense and devalues the entire playoff concept.

| I think it should just be a six team league.
Leeds, Wigan, Saints, Warrington, Hull FC & Catalan.
Play each other four times, no salary cap restrictions, keep all the Sky monies & enter the C.C at the Q.F stage.
Would make quite a few on here so happy, oh & Jamie Peacock.

| That won't work. Remember, London have to be in otherwise Sky will pull the plug. Drop Hull. The place stinks of fish.

No it will be proof that too large a gap has been allowed to open up between the top and second levels of the game. I know of no other game where this would be allowed to happen except RL. Personally I hope London get humiliated at the Mount tomorrow. I'm surprised Kear hasn't had the fire brigade up there watering it every day. Most of their players will probably have never seen anything like Mount Pleasant

| Quote maurice="maurice"Fev have shown, as Leigh did v Cats last year, that they could be as good if not better than the Salfords, Cas, Wakey, Widnes's of SL. Just as these clubs have shown they are not a Leeds, Wire, Wigan or saints.
Increase intensity at the top whilst expanding the game and including the ambitious heartlands and French clubs.
'"
An idea based on 3 cup games, where the sides from the lower division have had home advantage and before low crowds,is the blueprint for more intensity in future league games ?
A successor to Lewis has emerged.

Make the call now RFL/SL and let the game flourish.'" If you can find six viable full-time clubs currently outside Super League, then by all means. I think you'll struggle though since I don't even think that applies to the likes of Featherstone and Leigh. A Championship side putting up a valiant effort and not being absolutely blown away by Super League opposition in a one-off match isn't really of any relevance to anything.

| What's funny is that I thought licensing was supposed to 'kill the sport' at Championship level.

| I'm in favour of a second tier SL, but with P&R between the SL sides. Franchising still in place for all, but slightly lower criteria for SL2. championship teams can then find it easier to achieve the criteria to join and reach the standards needed. SL1 would be much more intensive and increase skill levels so we may finally be able to compete at international level!

Indeed, in fact I'd argue Featherstone's success is a feather in the cap of the licensing process. Had Featherstone got promoted last season, they'd have jettisoned at least half of the players that had got them so far and lost the gradual momentum that they're building up.
Rather than losing the feelgood factor as Widnes have this season, Featherstone can continue to build their business and status with a view to their eventual bid. I'm starting to take them more seriously than before now, and I get the feeling they know what they have to do and are going in the right direction.

It wouldn't improve standards, there would be exactly the same problems as before. For that to work, you would need two divisions full of Super League clubs. At the moment, we can barely manage one.

You'll never get another 6 pro clubs in Rl as long as clubs like yours continue to want to keep most of the financial pie to themselves
