| Quote Saddened!="Saddened!"Ditto. I've said this on a few forums this year.
A teams are pointless. It just takes a level of talent off the Championship clubs, further reducing the quality of that competition. What they need to do is have each Championship club formally announced as a feeder club. They get to share training facilities with the big boys, get entrenched in the big club environment and also get the young players that would normally be in the U20s of the SL club.
Fans of the Championship clubs just need to accept there is no future for those clubs. There is not enough money for them to survive long term. A lot of them are in a slow decline to oblivion at present.
You could then have all SL players on dual reg and have them play as appropriate in whichever division suits.'"
And if the SL side has 8 – 10 players without game time, that you want to play in the championship side, wont that means 8 – 10 championship players not getting a game? The championship side are then basically become you’re SL A team at a different club.

| Quote Guybrush="Guybrush"I wonder how the super league clubs could afford to run a feeder side when some of them can't even spend to the salary cap anyay. I can't imagine many of the championship fans sticking around to watch.'"
I can. The quality of the competition would be far higher, the players would be more committed (As their future SL careers would be riding on it).
The financial common sense is the best part. The SL club pays the salaries they are currently paying for the players and the Championship club gets better players for less money.
So as Wire's feeder club, Leigh could have had Riley, Higham, Evans, Louie Anderson, Williams etc playing for them for nothing.

| Quote Andy Gilder="Andy Gilder"Skolars would seem to make sense, nothing to say that feeder club has to be in the Championship rather than Championship 1.
Anything that raises the playing standards in the lower leagues has to be good for getting people back through the gates IMO. Nobody is talking about these clubs losing their own identities, just linking up with a SL side to benefit from the young players who aren't yet ready for the top level.'"

What's the problem with that? You would be watching a higher standard and those Championship players missing out would have to prove their worth. That competitive environment would get young players used to it and raise the standard.
It would mean more equipped young players coming through to SL.
What is the alternative? Trying to scramble through from year to year, scraping surivival and dipping in and out of administration?

Using kiddies from sl clubs wont raise standards in the CC,it would actually lower them.

What makes you think those players would come for nothing?

Well you said:
Quote Saddened!A teams are pointless. It just takes a level of talent off the Championship clubs '"
Feeder teams would be even worse for them.
Also if you have 8 - 10 SL players in the feeder team, then how many Championship players are going to get the chance to prove their worth?

But not in the same way as the system works in Australia , what the pies are really after is any decent quality Welsh players
Are you suggesting that W1g4n players would train during the week at Orrel , and then nip down to Neath for a training session there ?

But will you be anyway? You support Leigh don't you? Hardly a rosy future there at present? It's the same for all the sub-SL clubs. With no realistic prospect of promotion and very little TV revenue, how is it sustainable in the long term?

Which is the only thing this is about , the SL clubs are failing to produce enough quality players for SL and England , so lets bugger up somebody else's competition , enjoy SL , but leave us alone , we have enough of our own problems without having to sort yours out as well

Which leads us back to the point I posted in the post above about the sustainability of the Championship clubs in the current economic climate.
