I don't know any fan who doesn't refer to them as just Cougars.

I've been wondering this for a while, as I hear the generation gap clearly between the fogies who call the teams Fartown/Wire/Leeds/Northern and the kiddies who say Bulls/Giants/Wolves/Rhinos.
Some team names are ridiculously awful, cheesy and naff. Also, the logos put the game to shame often. League of Ireland teams look better. Is it time we reviewed the look of clubs.'"

Some stick, some dont.
With warrington, I call them the Wire and im only 23 however the wolves was a brilliant initiative, along with the 'Wolfpack' to get kids in when we were 6 or 7 years old and many many lifelong fans. In those years we averaged about 3500, I genuinely put the success in our attendances down to the hard ground work done 15 years ago and part of that wasthe reinvention of the wolves. Besides our town crest has a wolf on.

| We were being called Tigers long before SL and adopting it into the club name. Honestly can't remember if I've ever heard anyone refer to us as the Glassblowers.

We had a great nickname with Les Diables Rouges / The Red Devils, but unfortunately someone decided City Reds was better. You'll hear Reds used now and again but I'm yet to hear a Salford fan use the term City Reds.
