Dave Walter was UK gladiator champion twice, and went on to win the World Championship against the US champ. He's now in his late 30s and plays league for Exeter Centurions in the SW Conference.

International Gladiators champion Wesley "2 Scoops" Berry had a trial reserve game for Keighley at the height of Cougarmania against Huddersfield.
Over 3000 turned out at Cougar Park to see him, he wasn't very good though and IIRC he got clobbered by Dean Hanger.
