| Hes taken Smiths team and inherited that though. Blame injuries all you like but Leeds were poor this year, in ALL their big games. Leeds have gone from playing a very attractive brand of rugby to a niggly penalty machine over the course of about 2 years: a slow transition but they're going backwards.
EASILY the best squad in the league last year, they fell way, way short and would have done again if McLennan was in charge.
Oh and Tucker.. no he didnt, check your facts first.

Poor year this year, yet they were still only 80 minutes away from OT.

He won 2 Grand Finals and a World Club Challenge still very impressive for a three year reign.

| They were but they never looked anywhere near winning that game. 3 GFs on the trot to newt is a decline. Its not even that tbh, as a 'rugby' team they dont look the same class they had a few years ago and this is down to the coach.

| I cant believe Leeds wanted to replace Bluey (a bloke who has won stuff as coach of Leeds even with an inherited squad) with a bloke who is clueless at best and whose claim to fame was he wasn't good enough to coach Harlequins.
Macdermott will be given the @rse by Leeds as soon as NQld's Neil Henry is ready to come over

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the Bulls post-2005. Sounded like Groundhog day, was so familiar...

In terms of his previous record, he certainly isn't in the same league as previous coaches Leeds have had in the recent past.
I'm not a McDermott fan, thought he had turned Harlequins into a low-confidence, poor quality side despite the presence of some good quality players. Yes, he had not much money and yes, he had to throw young players in at the deep end, but even taking that into account I think he did a pretty shoddy job. I will be geniunely interested to see how this goes now that he's got a higher quality team available.
But if I was a Leeds fan, I'd be nervous.

You seem to enjoy writing rubbish. How can coaching Quins for four years be interpreted as 'not good enough to coach Quins'? And who says Leeds wanted to replace him? Hetherington is quoted as saying he wanted him to stay. No doubt you are closer to Leeds's real intentions than the chairman of the club.

I'm not backing him now!!
It just seems a stupid decision.
Its like not being able to win the Melbourne cup with a very average racehorse because its getting slower and slower... so you buy a donkey
